NEW! BREAKTHROUGH LIFE-COACHING: ME, MYSELF, AND I

Focus on building confidence by examining your strengths, passions, and core values. This course is sure to make an impact on your every day life. Discover and Maximize your potential, improve self-esteem, enhance social skills, gain clarity and direction, a better relationship with yourself and others, break unhealthy habits, ignite reflective thinking and be more intentional with your time.

FITNESS AND HEALTH

LESSON 1: CAMOUFLAGE SABOTAGE Remove the stinking thinking! Stop being your own worst enemy. In this session we use the book, “The Lies We Believe”, by Dr. Chris Thurman and uncover the lies that impact us regularly that we may not realize we are believing. As we expose them learn methods to changing these thoughts. LESSON 2: WHAT’S IN YOUR TOOLBOX? We all enter into the world with an assignment to fulfill that is unique to us as individuals. When you know your purpose you live intentionally and value your time and energy differently. You have been equipped with all the necessary tools to fulfill your purpose. Let’s journey beyond existing into a productive and fulfilled life by examining your gifts, talents, abilities, and motivating factors. LESSON 3: WHAT MAKES YOU TICK? Does the way you spend your time align with how you want to spend it? We are going to evaluate how you are currently spending your time and how to get your passions into your schedule more effectively! LESSON 4: FEAR OF MAN The greatest mountain of all to be removed is that of the fear of people. When we fear other people we make decisions based on what we think will please them only to be unhappy ourselves. WATER FUN FOR EVERYONE ENROLLMENT Class enrollment is strictly regulated in order to provide proper teacher/student ratios. Once a class is filled, no one else will be allowed to register. You may be placed on a waiting list at no cost. If an opening occurs, the first person on the waiting list will be contacted. This does not mean a place will be saved for the participants. Participants on the waiting list are not to come to the first day of class. The pool supervisors reserve the right to move participants from the class they originally enrolled in if there is room and the move merits the best interest of the student. Participants should be aware that every effort to provide a makeup class will be made. STUDENT/TEACHER RATIO A student/teacher ratio which provides good safety and instruction is vital to our programs. In general, we strive to maintain a 5:1 ratio for all classes; however, we cannot guarantee these numbers. Instructors may vary. APPAREL Cut-off shorts, thongs, street clothes, and sweat pants are prohibited in the pool. Shirts may be worn over appropriate swimming attire. Children that are not toilet trained are required to wear approved swim diapers.

CANCELLATIONS/WEATHER POLICY Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment, mechanical breakdown, low air or water temperature, or schedule change. Every effort to alert you to these cancellations will be made. Frederick County law states that the pool deck must be cleared during thunder and lightning storms. At the first sight of lightning or sound of thunder, the pool will be immediately evacuated. Swimmers will not be allowed to return to the pool until 30 minutes after the last occurrence of thunder or lightning. Every attempt will be made to continue through the scheduled practice when the weather clears. LESSON OBSERVATION Please remember all swim instructors are American Red Cross certified with high standards. Please allow them to teach with- out distraction. A parent seating area will be provided. If you have a concern please wait until the class ends and discuss your concern with the instructor. We strongly encourage parents, if they feel comfortable, to bring kids to swim lessons and exit the pool area until class is close to ending.

SWIMMING LESSONS Which Level is right for my child? Level 1 is for beginners with little or no experience in the water. To enroll into levels 2-6, students must have completed or at least be able to confidently demonstrate the skills listed in the previous level, including the exit skill requirements. How many lessons will it take for my child to “swim”? Learning skills varies among children. Readiness is influenced by physical development, previous experiences, home environment, parental attitudes, and individual preferences. For most skills, there are simply pre-requisites; activities and lead-ups that can prepare the child to perform those skills. It may take many lessons before a child can swim independently. Year round practice, regular (supervised) exposure to water and positive encouragement are ways parents can help their child to progress. To make sure your child does learn to swim well, be sure they complete the entire learn-to-swim program. For swim lesson descriptions, visit: http://bit.ly/rec-aquatics

ARTS & CRAFTS YOUNG REMBRANDTS CARTOON DRAWING

Our elementary learners are at the crucial time of development when they decide whether they’re good at something or not. This decision will affect not only the rest of their academic career, but their lifetime learning as well. The Young Rembrandts cartooning program provides the tools this age-group needs to succeed at drawing - a teaching tool from which the majority of learners prefer and ALL learners benefit! Learning to draw can be fun, especially when we create silly characters, funny expressions and drawing sequences that tell a joke!
