Introducing ePact – Our New Customer Emergency Management Software New this fall, we are rolling out a secure costumer emergency management software, ePact. We will use this software to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically.

Not only will ePACT replace paper forms, but it will also ensure we have a way to communicate with you in the event of an unexpected situation.

PROGRAM

ACCOMMODATIONS Frederick County Parks and Recreation embraces the opportunity to support individuals with disabilities and enable them to fully participate in recreation programs of their choice.

We are able to offer reasonable accommodations, such as sign language interpreters, large print, and support staff* to individuals with disabilities on an as-needed basis to assist in making the program a positive experience for the individual. *If the individual has their own personal companion, who they would prefer to have accompany them to a program, please email cfeudale@frederickcountymd.gov for further instructions.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS/ WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES

Please see your instructor on the first day of your program for a schedule. If there is a change in the schedule, you will be informed by Parks and Recreation staff of the update. If you are not sure whether a program will be held, call our program cancellation line at 301-600-6291. During inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Every effort will be made to make-up missed classes. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled classes that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules. The Division may cancel a program for any reasonable cause.

COACHES CREDIT POLICY

Any Frederick County Parks & Recreation volunteer head coach will receive a 25% credit off of the league registration fee upon completion of coaching requirements. All returning volunteer head coaches will receive a 30% credit. Head coaches are only eligible to receive one credit per team regardless of the number of children he/she has on the team; credits aren’t applicable to assistant coaches.

REFUND POLICY

In light of COVID-19, we have revised our refund policy for fall 2020. If a participant is unable to continue in a program due to illness or exposure related to Covid-19, they will receive a credit that is pro-rated based on the number of days that is missed of said program(s). The participant may request a refund of the credit via email at parksandrecreation@frederickcountymd.gov or by calling the Central Office at 301-600-2936.

NEW! BOY’S BOX LACROSSE LEAGUE

This is a brand new box lacrosse facility and league in Frederick County! This league is for boys aged 10-18 years old. All games are played at Utica District Park’s new Turf Field #6 each Saturday between 9a-4p. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of one game per week. Practices will be held once a week on either Tuesday or Thursday evening at Utica Turf Field #6. This is a 6-game league with the last weekend being a round robin tournament. There will not be games on December 26th. Jersey’s are provided. Participants must provide their own equipment (helmets, pads, sticks, etc). The registration deadline is November 11th. Volunteer coaches are vital to the operation of this program.

NEW! HIGH SCHOOL GIRL’S BOX LACROSSE PICK-UP

The league is for girls 14-18 old who want to continue to play lacrosse in the off-season. Body-Checking is NOT allowed in this league. All games will be played on the synthetic turf at Utica District Park on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm and Saturday evenings from 5-7pm. Games will have in-house officials and all registrants will receive a reversible jersey with their pre-paid registration. Gates to the field open at 6 pm. Goalies are free to play (pre-registration is required; contact Hugh Ortner at hortner@frederickcountymd.gov for more details). All athletes must provide their own equipment (helmet, sticks, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, etc.). The county will only provide the goals, and balls for game play.

NFL YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL

5v5 non-contact league. Jersey and flag belts are provided.

Games will be played on Fridays (15-16 age group) or Saturdays (all other age groups) at County park fields. Volunteer coaches are vital to the operation of this program. Anyone that wishes to volunteer must complete an application at www.recreater.com/ volunteer. Practices are held one night/week at the selection of the head coach. All players are required to wear a mouth guard.

Practices will start during the second week of September at the discretion of the coach. Game times vary between 9am-4pm on Saturdays, 5pm-8pm on Fridays (depending on team schedule).

Be sure to register at the park location you wish to practice at, see below. Registration deadline is August 19th.

CO-ED FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Play is 5 vs. 5 with a minimum of 2 females required on field at all times. Maximum of 15 players per team roster. All games are played at Ballenger Creek Park on Tuesday evenings. Format is NFL FLAG rules modified for adults, everyone is eligible to receive passes. League play consists of approximately 8 regular season games and a chance for every team to compete in a post-season playoff competition. Game times will vary each week depending on team schedule. Individual sign up only - indicate team at time of registration or sign up as free agent. Full fee must be submitted at time of registration to secure spot. Team Captains will be sent complete information packet and requirements for entire team.

Free agent sign-ups will be placed on a team by the League Coordinator. Registration deadline for teams is August 25th.

Minors under the age of 18 years must have a parent/guardian waiver completed prior to playing.

NEW! MEN’S ULTIMATE FRISBEE COMPETITION

This Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Competition will be held on the turf fields at the brand new Othello Regional Park! Format is 7v7 with maximum of 9 players per roster. Final roster must be submitted to officials on the date of the games along with ID’s from each individual participant. This new adults sports league will be played on Utica’s new sand volleyball courts! This league is for adults 18 years and older.

This 6-week league will have all games played on either Monday or Wednesday evening. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of one game per week. Each team will be required to turn in an official team roster prior to the beginning of the season starting (may make adjustments until the end of the 2nd week).
