At Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPR), we believe that sports have the power to bring people together, promote wellness, and build community. Our Adult Sports Leagues offer more than just competition—they provide opportunities to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy the game in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or looking to try something new, our leagues welcome participants of all skill levels and backgrounds. We emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect, ensuring that every player has a great experience both on and off the field.

With the support of our dedicated staff and volunteers, we strive to create a space where adults can challenge themselves, build friendships, and stay engaged in the sports they love. Join us for a season of exciting competition, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments!

Join our Adult Co-ed Flag Football League for fun, fast-paced play. Games are played Tuesday evenings from 6:30–10:00 PM at Ballenger Creek Park, running from March 31 through June 2. Play is 5 vs. 5 with a minimum of two females required on the field at all times. Games follow NFL FLAG rules modified for adults, and all players are eligible to receive passes. Teams can expect approximately seven regular season games followed by a post-season playoff. Teams provide their own jerseys or shirts.

Join our Men’s Flag Football League for competitive, fast-paced play. Games are held Saturdays from 8:00 AM–2:00 PM at Ballenger Creek Park, running from April 5 through June 21. This is an 8 vs. 8 league with team rosters of 10–16 players. Teams will play approximately seven regular season games followed by a post-season playoff. Teams provide their own jerseys or shirts.

Adult Basketball Leagues

Join our Men’s Spring Basketball League for competitive, high-energy play. Games are held Wednesday evenings from 6:00–9:30 PM at various recreation centers, running from April 8 through June 10. Teams will play approximately six regular season games followed by a championship tournament. Team rosters must include a minimum of 8 players and no more than 15. Teams provide their own jerseys or shirts.

Join our Adult Co-ed Spring Indoor Volleyball League for fun, fast-paced play. Games are held Tuesday evenings from 6:00–10:00 PM at Sugarloaf Recreation Center, running from April 14 through June 9. This is a 6v6 co-ed league with a minimum of two females required on the court at all times. Teams will play approximately seven regular season games followed by a post-season playoff and are guaranteed at least one game per week. Games are self-officiated, volleyballs are provided, and teams must provide their own jerseys.

Co-ed Quads Beach Volleyball

Join our Co-ed Spring Quad’s Beach Volleyball League for fun, fast-paced play. Games are held Monday evenings from 5:00–8:00 PM at Utica District Park, running from April 6 through June 8. This is a 4v4 co-ed league, and teams will play approximately six regular season games followed by a post-season playoff. Teams are guaranteed at least one game per week. Games are self-officiated, volleyballs are provided, and teams must provide their own jerseys.

TeamSnap is a new way of communicating and scheduling in the sports world.

With this helpful app, participants will receive all information they need from the league commissioner and coaches in the palm of their hands!

Parents/participants will receive an email invite from the league commissioner prior to the first practice, and all you have to do is accept.

After accepting, you will gain access to your team assignment, practice schedule, game schedule and more.

We are looking for Youth & Adult League Officials

We’re hiring officials for our youth and adult sports leagues! The job is part-time non-benefited, about 4–8 hours per week on weekdays and weekends. Pay is $16 per hour. Applicants must be 16 years or older. This opportunity is posted continuous. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, approximately once per week, and then forwarded to the hiring department to arrange interviews.

We’re Hiring Sports Referees

This person will have the opportunity to officiate Youth and Adult Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer and Volleyball Leagues. They are expected to maintain a fun and safe environment for all participants. Keeping players safe and players healthy are first concerns, the official will promptly and decisively address unsafe situations as well as unsafe/inappropriate conduct on the part of coaches, players and spectators. Location, time and duration of each game will depend upon schedule, location and other factors as determined by supervision. Necessary equipment will be provided by the Division of Parks and Recreation. This position may be eligible for sick and safe paid leave and various optional benefits. • Register online at www.recreater.com, click “Activities” and search the league of your choice by name or program number.

• Call 301-600-2936, have your program number (i.e. #24099) and credit card number ready.

You will receive a registration confirmation via e-mail after your registration is complete so please make sure your e-mail is current in our system. Be sure to verify your receipt for accuracy.

AGE POLICY

Program participants must be the advertised age for a specific recreational program before that individual program is completed in order to qualify for participation in the program. A program’s timeframe is defined specifically according to the description associated with an assigned program number. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe.

In times of inclement weather, you can check the status of a program by calling the Program Status Line at 301-600-6291, checking our social media outlets listed below or go to our website (www.recreater.com).

If a program is cancelled due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to make-up missed programs. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled programs that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules.

ACCOMMODATIONS

We are able to offer reasonable accommodations, such as providing support staff to individuals with disabilities on an asneeded basis to assist in making the program a positive experience for the individual. To request accommodations, please call 301-600-2936 at least two weeks prior to the program start date.

Refunds are issued for activities cancelled by Frederick County Parks and Recreation or when rescheduling is not possible. Customer withdrawals must be requested using the online form and are subject to the refund schedule available online at www.recreater.com. Please note refunds are not provided for absences, and administrative fees may apply.

CODE OF CONDUCT AND PROCEDURES

CODE OF CONDUCT

Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPR) is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all participants and guests. To promote safety and enjoyment for all, FCPR asks individuals to act appropriately at all times while they are visiting FCPR facilities or participating in FCPR leagues.

As a participant in our Leagues, you agree to:

1. Treat other participants, staff, spectators, and officials with respect at all times.

2. Refrain from the use of profanity or obscene gestures.

3. Follow all directions from officials and FCPR staff.

4. Respect the fields, rec centers, equipment, and facility amenities.

5. Promote sportsmanship, safety, and fun above winning.

6. Read and review the league rules, FCPR League Mission Statement, and facility policies.

FCPR has a discipline policy for conduct at recreation programs and facilities. Anyone that violates the Code of Conduct and are asked to leave the league or facility, will not be refunded. County employees are not responsible for league participants prior to, or after, a scheduled games.

FCPR will investigate all reported incidents. Suspension or termination of the FCPR privileges may result if there’s any Code of Conduct violation.

CONCUSSION AWARENESS

The registration process for youth sports requires a review of the information on concussions and concussion awareness available on our website www.recreater.com/ concussion. Participants must review the concussion awareness information prior to the first session in order to comply with the state law. If you are unable to review the concussion awareness information online, you must request a written copy from the Division of Parks & Rec by calling 301-600-2936.

INHERENT RISKS

Participants must acknowledge that there are inherent risks and dangers associated with recreation activities and must hold Frederick County, Maryland harmless from all claims for injuries, damage, or loss, which may result from you or your child’s participation.

IMAGE/MEDIA WAIVER

Participants consent to Frederick County, Maryland’s use of the participant’s image and likeness as shown in any photographs, videotapes, motion picture film, or electronic images, and any audio recordings made of the participant’s voice in whatever way the County desires, including television, print and Internet websites. Furthermore, you consent that such photographs, films, recordings, electronic images shall be the sole property of Frederick County, Maryland. Participants have the option to submit a non-consent for the use of images of yourself or your child during online registration or by calling 301-600-2936.
