Higher Med doc touts healing power of marijuana
SHS grad’s first book addresses consequences of young love

PLAINVILLE — Dr. Paulina Miklosz believes marijuana can improve the quality of life of people suffering from a myriad of afflictions. That’s why she opened Higher Med, a clinic where patients learn how cannabis may benefit them, and if they qualify for the state’s medical marijuana program. Located at 53 Whiting St., Higher Med opened in early June. “A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this place,” said Miklosz, who started the business from home during the pandemic. At first, it was a telehealth operation, but soon it became clear to Miklosz that she needed a proper office in which to meet with patients. A graduate of Boston College and UConn’s Doctorate of
