Race fundraiser set for Nov. 9 A race to raise money to help bring back the defunded interscholastic spring sports season at the Middle School of Plainville is planned for Saturday, Nov. 9. The “Thanks for Giving” run will start at the Middle School of Plainville at 9:30 a.m. Runners should arrive

early for registration, which opens at 8:30. The run will follow a similar trail as the cross country route through the fields and woods behind the school. There also will be a 5K walk and a Turkey Trot one-mile kids’ fun run. These events will be moved to Nov. 10 in the event of inclement weather. Sara Limmer, one of the parents organizing the

event, said sports have too much to offer the 75 athletes who participate in the spring season — including physical, social and mental health benefits — to allow the program to lapse.
