Lacrosse: Cheshire overwhelms Hand in Class M title tilt By Greg Lederer Special to the Record-Journal

FAIRFIELD — Riding the bus into Sacred Heart University for the Class M final on Sunday, the Cheshire boys lacrosse team had a single goal: leave with its first state crown in 13 years. The CHS boys golf team claimed the CIAC Division I state championship last week, the program’s first state crown since 1999. Golf: Rams claim first state crown in 24 years HEBRON — Led by A.J. DePaolo’s runner-up round of 71, the Cheshire golf team claimed the CIAC Division I championship at Tallwood Country Club on June 5. It was the first state championship for Cheshire golf since 1999.

Cheshire also shared this

year’s Southern Connecticut Conference crown, with DePaolo landing the individual medal. On June 5, the Rams shot a cumulative 316 to win by five strokes over secondplace Bristol Central. Cheshire paced a field of 17 total teams. DePaolo’s round of 71 was

second only to the 70 shot by Andrew Beauton of Guilford. Aoife Devaney of the Waterbury Co-op finished third at 72. Dylan Gillotti added a 78 for Cheshire. Jack DeJoseph came in with a round of 81 and Jack Brewster shot an 86.
