Cheshire recognized for sustainabilty efforts By Joy VanderLek The Cheshire Citizen

The town of Cheshire was awarded bronze recertification during the Sustainable Connecticut Awards Celebration held on Nov. 14 at the West Hartford Town Hall. The spotlight on Cheshire focused on the Cheshire Pollinator Pathway’s mission to incorporate native plants back into the local environment.

Linear trail holiday fest draws crowd

Sign returns to Ball & Socket

WALLINGFORD — It was cold, and the snow was just beginning to fall, but that didn’t stop the community from gathering to spread the holiday cheer at the Linear Trail at Lakeside Park in Wallingford on Sunday afternoon.

Ball & Socket Arts will reveal a newly restored factory sign during a brief ceremony scheduled for today, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.

Members of the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail Advisory Committee resumed their annual event after it had been on a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following a rainout that forced postponement to Sunday.

The iconic Ball & Socket factory sign will return to Building 1, complete with hand-gilded lettering.
