As we welcome Spring 2026, I am proud to share several exciting updates that reflect our continued commitment to enhancing Norwalk’s parks, programs, and community spaces. Significant progress is underway across the city, and we are grateful for the community’s ongoing support and participation.
One of our most impactful projects has officially begun—the groundbreaking for the Hermosillo Rehabilitation, Stormwater Capture and Infiltration Project. Every day, Hermosillo Park moves one step closer to becoming a revitalized space with new community amenities designed to serve residents for generations to come. While the park is expected to reopen in approximately two years, we are excited about the long-term benefits this project will provide. In addition, sustainability efforts continue with the successful completion of the Solar Array Project at the Norwalk Aquatic Pavilion, delivering renewable energy, improved security lighting, and greater operational efficiency.
Community input remains at the heart of our planning efforts. Community engagement meetings have begun for the Holifield Park Master Plan, and we are currently working on the Bob White Park Master Plan to address much-needed improvements to walkways, parking, lighting, and overall accessibility. These efforts ensure our parks evolve to meet the needs of our diverse community.
Spring also brings opportunities to come together and celebrate. Join us on April 4 for our annual Egg-stravagant Egg Hunt, featuring egg hunts, live music, food trucks, games, and fun for the whole family. We are also currently accepting registrations for the third annual 5K Run—an event that promotes health, wellness, and community spirit.
Thank you for being an active part of Norwalk’s parks and recreation programs. We look forward to seeing you this spring.
Sincerely,
Allan Perdomo Director, Recreation and Park Services
