One day in September, it was hot, I remember, Miss Brea was playing outside.

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Said “I think that I’ll take a ride.”

She peddled along, singing a song, with nowhere specific to go.

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Said “there’s something that I’d like to know.”

“My mom calls me Birdie, but I don’t even fly, now what is this all about ?”

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Decided she’d figure it out.

She saw so many birds, in flocks (not in herds) flying high up in the clouds.

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Shouted her question out loud:

“Hey you! way up there, flying high through the air, how did you get your name?”

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Told them that her’s was the same.

One bird with blue feathers stopped and declared “I asked that question once too.�

Just she and her bike, this adventurous tike, Listened and then she knew.

She had potential to fly, reaching up to the sky, she’d succeed in all she would do.

Just she and her bike, this adventureous tike, Had a lifetime of soaring to do.
