Projects you can tackle with extra time at home A good project can help you fall in love with your home again or add value to it if you are considering putting it on the market. Here are some of our favorites that make a huge impact: 1. Declutter and deep clean: There has never been a better time to tackle those mounds of items (and dust) that are accumulating in your storage space.

You will feel so much lighter once they’re gone!

2. Organize: From linen closets, your pantry, bathroom and kitchen cabinets, the possibilities are endless. And if you need supplies to organize your spaces, some of our go to online retailers are Target and The Container Store.

3. Paint: If we had to guess, paint is involved in about 90% of our transactions, and nothing makes a house feel better than a fresh coat of paint. Use this time to touch up paint on your trim or doors, or tackle larger jobs like rooms and common areas. These simple projects have a huge impact and will reap dividends in resale.

4. Make your yard an oasis: Have your mulch delivered in your driveway, plant some flowers, start mowing your lawn, and clean your outdoor furniture.

5. Change fixtures and hardware: Changing up cabinetry hardware, lighting, and plumbing fixtures can update a room significantly. Everything you need can be purchased online, and we have some favorite recommendations if you need advice. It’s a great time to mix metals and add some personality to your space.

6. Rearrange rooms and refresh furniture and decor: Play around with new furniture layouts, swap rugs, lamps, and artwork from different rooms, and restyle your bookshelves. This is also a great time to order some prints of photos hanging out on your phone and computer and refresh your frames. Take advantage of all the sales right now, and treat yourself to some new accessories or furniture pieces!
