A WORD FROM PAUL GRAFF Y Spring is here, and Naples is in bloom. Toojay’s, a wonderful deli at Mercato, recently opened and has been swamped. Lucky’s Food Market is in the process of opening two locations in the North Naples area. One will open this month near the Hollywood 20. The other will open in Spring 2020 in the Wiggins Pass plaza. There has been serious site preparation on the south side of Park Shore Plaza between Fresh Market and McDonald’s, making way for TIPSY Salon Bar, a franchise with 11 locations in Florida. Services provided will be hair, nails, waxing, facials, massage, and a MedSpa providing Botox, JV and fillers, all while enjoying your favorite cocktail. The old Sears at Coastland Center Mall will be razed, making room for CMX Cinebistro, a freestanding theater with 6 screens, leather seats, swivel tables, and chef-prepared cuisine and libation to be enjoyed while watching a film.

Lastly, according to our local Board of Realtors, the number of sales posted over the 12-month period ending February 28 reflected a 3.5% gain over the preceding 12-months, while sales of homes priced over $2 million reflected a 4.8% gain. However, 2019 January and February sales reflected a 15.4% decline when compared to January and February 2018. We await the March numbers. It’s entirely possible that these early losses can be offset by sales that will post during our peak months. There remains a continued balance between supply and demand. Our overall market is stable, though there are pockets with a shortage of supply, pockets that are coasting, and pockets showing a loss in value.
