When Liz Bergey and Wayne DeJong bought a home in Douglas Park in 1999, Liz describes it as having been a “teeny-tiny bungalow that was nothing to look at.” Eighteen years later, their home has had many additions and renovations done, which resulted in a warm and beautifully finished home. In my mind, one of the most significant additions to their home was their son who was born there shortly after they moved in. When I asked her why they bought in the Douglas Park area, she said, “It is a great, welcoming neighbourhood, safe and comfortable to walk through. And I loved the accessibility to downtown, but you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

With Liz’s background as a teacher, her natural ability to connect, communicate, and help people, led her to becoming the Marketing Manager and Coordinator for their team. Wayne has a background in Engineering, which gives him an advantage over many inspectors, in my opinion. Their list of services are vast and include Indoor Air Quality Testing and Mold Sampling; they go beyond many other inspector’s services. Liz describes Wayne and the other inspectors on their team as “Home Whisperers” who understand and can explain what is behind minor imperfections and what the root causes of issues are. They work with buyers and sellers during real estate sales as well as home owners who want to keep up on maintaining their homes.
