ALFORD MEADOWS June 2017 Real Estate Market Report

Dear Jonathan and Angela-Marie, For many years, Spring has brought visitors to the Alford Meadows area—and especially to my koi pond on the corner of 50th and Apricot. Ducks! Some of you have enjoyed watching these ducks land in the pond, bathing themselves, or walking around my yard. Initially, I noticed it was always a male and female pair, but in more recent years we have had a lone female arrive as well. I always believed that it was the same male and female pair each year—that maybe the female of the pair just came alone at times. But in the first weekend of May we learned that there are in fact two different females. We had just one female in the pond bathing herself and the mated pair landed in the pond while she was there. Loud quacking and chasing ensued as the lone female ended up losing her bathtub for the evening. Over the years, my children and I have enjoyed this ritual and now that my kids are all grown up and living away from home, they still get excited to see a picture with a text stating, "The ducks are back!" I hope you too have enjoyed them! —Billie Jo Downing
