REALITIES FOR CHILDREN?
Realities For Children is an alliance of local businesses whose mission is to provide for the unmet needs of children who have been abused, neglected, or are at-risk by uniting local businesses, youth agencies and the community in collaborative and mutually beneficial service. Through the underwriting support of the 270+ Businesses, it allows Realities For Children Charities to operate without expenses. This ensures 100% of every donation directly benefits programs and services for the children we serve. Partnered in service with local youth agencies, Realities For Children has created a safety net of services for
children in our community who have faced abuse, neglect, or are at-risk. We do this through our healing philosophy that provides emergency funding for children in Larimer County when all other resources are exhausted. We support the process of recovery through youth activities, critical item distributions, and resources to the children served by our Partner Agencies. We work to break the cycle of abuse through special direct programs and scholarships for the empancipating youth we serve. Because no child should be forgotten.

s the Realities For Children Membership Relations Manager and therapy dog handler, I have the pleasure of working with some of the most incredible people in our community. Serving as a Pet Therapy team with Remi and Rio is truly rewarding as I get to interact with children I adore and increase awareness of the issues of child abuse and neglect. The girls and I attend our monthly Youth Activities, public schools, community events, and Partner Agencies programs. I also have the opportunity to connect with, promote, and encourage our community to work with our Business Members. These business leaders are dedicated to seeing that no child who has been abused, neglected, or is at-risk in our community is forgotten. Every month, I create our networking opportunities where we bring together business leaders who have literally made it part of their business to make a difference. These amazing leaders have become part of my family, and every business that helps us serve the needs of children is listed in this Directory. The impact of our Business Members, Youth Agencies, donors, and community members working together is beyond inspiring. Last year alone, the Realities For Children family provided Emergency Services to 5,116 children, Youth Activities for 1,510 children, Program Facilities Space for 4,979 children and their guardians, and distributed needed items to over 15,000 children locally. AMBASSADORS The Ambassador program is comprised of a select group of Business Members who volunteer their time and talents to network and participate in fundraising events as spokespeople for Realities For Children. They help generate business leads and educate organizations on how they can become part of the solution to child abuse in our community. Realities For Children provides six core services to benefit the children we provide for. One of our founding core services is Emergency Funding. Emergency Funding is provided for any services, support, or care for the immediate needs of children who have survived abuse and neglect or are at-risk in our community. This resource is not designed to be a quick alternate funding but rather a county-wide safety net for children when all other resources have been exhausted or otherwise unavailable. To ensure there is no duplication of services and all other resources have been utilized, each emergency request must identify all other possible resources that have been requested and were not available for the child that support needed. This process also ensures that each emergency request is for a specific service for a specific child in need. The process for accessing Emergency Funding must come
from a recognized Partner Agency or Government organization that works directly with children who have experienced abuse or neglect or are at risk locally. This ensures the legitimacy of the need and, as a result, expedites our ability to respond quickly to the emergencies and support required. This online request process is received through a private portal that can be made and received 24 hours a day and can be provided within 60 minutes of the request if needed. Last year Realities For Children provided Emergency Services and support to 5,116 children when there was nowhere else to turn. This support would not have been possible without the valuable collaboration with youth organizations, child protection services, the Business Members in this Directory, and donors. It is in working together as a community we can make certain that no child in need is forgotten.

SPOTLIGHT For over 35 years, Project SelfSufficiency of Northern Colorado has been a beacon of hope, extending the promise of education and selfempowerment to approximately 140 low-income, single-parent families annually. Focused on families earning below 225% of the Federal Poverty Level, the program stands as a vital support system for those in need. At the heart of Project SelfSufficiency’s approach is the selfpower model, engaging participants through four stages of growth. This model provides intensive, personalized intervention, facilitated by highly skilled advisors. Beyond addressing academic concerns, advisors support single parents through challenges and triumphs, attending to the holistic needs of both the individual and their family. Education is a central pillar of the mission, and the selfpower model plays a pivotal role in fostering educational growth. Targeted support is provided to families facing financial constraints, breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering parents with the tools and resources needed to pursue educational opportunities. Scholarships, tutoring services, and mentorship programs are tailored to the unique needs of each participant, ensuring that education becomes a transformative force in their lives. tcffo.org The Center for Family Outreach has been providing education, prevention, and early intervention programming for students and their families for over 20 years. Our primary focus is on strengthening family relationships, promoting positive communication, and developing problem-solving skills for both students and parents. Our staff specializes in dealing with challenges related to adolescent behaviors and family conflict, and we work together to find solutions to overcome all obstacles, even during the toughest times. To begin the process, we identify the immediate needs of each student and assess the family’s unique set of strengths and challenges to determine our support plan. Our case management process helps us to identify the risk factors for emotional and behavioral issues early on. We determine the level of risk across a few specific areas and ultimately decide which educa-

tional programs are best suited for the student. We are proud to be a Partner Agency of Realities For Children and appreciate their of our mission of bringing people together to tackle important issues such as substance use reduction, reducing child neglect and abuse prevention, and promotion of family and child wellness. Thanks to the network of financial resources provided by Realities, we have been able to enhance our programming capabilities by offering therapeutic interventions, parenting support, education, and early intervention.
Our most valuable addition has been the TAC (Teen Activity Center) which has been instrumental in providing a safe and supportive environment for the youth. The funding we receive from Realities is crucial for our agency to offer emergency funding for some of our most marginalized families. We are committed to providing the highest quality of service to our families and are grateful for the support of Realities For Children. We look forward to continuing our partnership to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

BRIGHTENING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN, ONE NIGHTLIGHT AT A TIME As the 26th annual NightLights outreach comes to a close and the 50’ iconic blue tree is dismantled, we reflect back on the tremendous impact that occurs when a donor makes a personal choice to bring a child in need out of the darkness of abuse one NightLight at a time. The simple
actions of many have a far greater impact than most understand. To the children impacted directly by the love and support shown to them during a time they are scared, alone, and in the dark, it can be life-changing all because they received one NightLight, letting them know they are not alone.
