PARTNER AGENCY SPOTLIGHT

Family Promise of Larimer County, a program of House of Neighborly Service (HNS) and an affiliate of Family Promise National, serves children and their families that are experiencing homelessness - transforming lives one family at a time.

There is a severe shortage of affordable housing in Northern Colorado, exacerbated by rising rents, stagnant wages, and increased basic need expenses. With little or not safety net, one unforeseen expense of emergency can lead to family homelessness. It is Family Promise’s belief that every family can and should have a home, a livelihood, and the change to build a better future. The primary goal of the program is to empower families with children to permanently transition in to independent affordable housing.

Family Promise delivers innovative solutions for family homelessness including prevention, shelter, and stabilization services based upon the belief that every child deserves a home. In 2021, Family Promise served 502 individuals including providing 2,836 shelter nights to families in the program.

Family Promise provides a Day Center for any family that is experiencing homelessness. The Day Center resources are: showers, laundry, toys, a computer, budgeting support, resources, and optional case management.

The Family Promise Housingfocused Shelter Program is a 60 day program. Applicants must pass a background check as well as drug test. Families in the Shelter Program are provided a hotel room with a weekly renewal based upon engagement with the case management team and meeting goals that are set forth by both the adults and the case managers – moving them forward into permanent housing.

Family Promise of Larimer County is extremely thankful to be a Realities For Children affiliate where resources can be sourced to serve the children and their family. Together, community is built and lives are being strengthened. To learn more about
