KCHBA to Auction Children’s Playhouses for Local Non-Profit The Parade of Playhouses returns for its third year in 2021 The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is pleased to announce that the Parade of Playhouses is scheduled for April 24-May 2, coinciding with the KCHBA’s Spring Parade of Homes, which runs April 24-May 9. KCHBA members and area schools are designing and building unique playhouses to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The proceeds will benefit a local 501(c)(3) via the KCHBA’s Foundation. Consumers will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite playhouse and the winner will be given the “Pick of the Parade” award. A panel of judges will also inspect the playhouses and an award will be presented to the most innovative playhouse. There will also be a prize for the home that raises the most money. Last year, 13 playhouses were auctioned with the proceeds benefitting Veterans Community Project. Playhouse themes included the Kansas City Chiefs, Whataburger, Dr. Seuss, a castle and more! KCHBA is currently in the process of determining its community partner for the 2021 Parade of Playhouses.
