Recently I began to enjoy a “Minute with Maxwell” to start each day. This 60 second video gives me nuggets of inspiration, truth and purpose to chart my course for the day. It’s a reminder for me that what influences and shapes my life happens between my ears, not a response to actions outside my control. On his last video, John focused on the word navigation. In the 21 Laws of Leadership, there is a concept called the “Law of Navigation” and it focuses on intentional steps to arrive at the destination.

According to the dictionary, navigation is defined as “the process or activity of accurately ascertaining one’s position, planning and following a route.”

As a small business owner, navigation is one of the most essential attributes you can possess. Navigation allows you to see the big picture for your business and break it down into achievable daily habits to produce a desired result. Think of it as being the architect of your life, not the laborer. Navigation affords you the opportunity to course correct when waters get choppy or become flat. In real estate, we can relate that to drowning in business or adrift without enough.

Navigation also becomes a mindset when “disrupters in the marketplace” make seemingly bold and unexpected moves. The most successful captains know that service and relationships always cross the finish line first and will never be replaced by big tech bling or promises. If 2020 taught us anything, it was the importance of staying connected to friends, family and community.

One of the biggest privileges we have as your support teams and a Partner in your business, is to help you chart your course for success. A path uniquely your own which honors your goals.

“I have to admit that going to a class whether virtual or in person is not my favorite activity.

No matter how wide awake I am, the minute I get settled in my seat I begin to get antsy and my eyes start to close. However this was not the case with the Star Power Class. We met once a month as a group to discuss the subject dujour and learn the various components of how to build a team. Rich was also the Broker Owner of the largest Realty Executives Brokerage in the world, with over 1,200 agents. Dale connected with Rich during one of our Realty Executives International Conferences. It was during that trip, that Rich shared the Dinner of Honor concept with Dale. Bringing quality agents to our Brokerage has always been important to us and Dale asked Rich to share a little about how he brought so many quality agents to his brokerage. The answer was simple…. You GET quality Sales Executives FROM quality Sales Executives. Rich went on to further explain the concept of the Dinner of Honor. You invite your Sales Executives to a dinner where you can honor and pour into them. Encourage them to invite a guest in the industry to join them for dinner and spend the evening sharing a meal, telling stories, laughing and honoring one another. Rich shared, it’s a great way for others to see who we are and the why behind everything we do. We immediately made plans to create our own version of the Dinner of Honor. Our very first Dinner of Honor was held in 2017 at Maggiano’s and three years later they are stronger than ever. We’ve added our little touches along the way. Sometimes there’s live music, sometimes there are games with prizes, sometimes there are spouses there that also get honored.
