Healthy Vibrant Growth As the year comes to a close, I would love to share a story with you of friendship and growth that has stuck with me over the last several months. There are so many examples that I could share with you of our Executives sharing their passion for being able to run their own business the way that they want to with their friends, but most recently it involves one or our long time Sales Executives, Tina Ferlindes. Tina has been with the brand for over 20 years and is exceptional in the way she serves her clients and her support of Realty Executives Integrity. She continues to be involved and build relationships of trust with her clients and colleagues. Her team takes office space in our Brookfield location and they are a staple of vibrancy and health! We frequently see Tina meeting her clients in the office and offering help to others by bringing life to those around her. Anyone with the privilege of knowing Tina understands that she doesn’t know a stranger and is masterful at building those relationships of trust that are key to creating clients (and friends) for life. She freely shares the tips and tricks that she has come to know out of the abundance of her heart! On to the scene comes Jennie, who recently told me “I was so impressed with the warmth of Tina's personality, her professionalism, and her amazing attention to details. We hit it off from the start! Tina really made me feel like I was her ONLY client and talked as if she had all the time in the world for ME!”. Jennie was searching for a Realtor® to help her in the sale of her house earlier this year and was recommended to Tina by her best friend. She didn’t want just anyone and needed someone that she could trust. On the recommendation of her friend, she called Tina late one evening and left a message. To her surprise, Tina called her back a few minutes later and they met in person the very next day! (this to me rings true to the high quality of Sales Executives that call REI home) During Jennie’s home selling process, she had already been studying for her licensing exam and began to ask Tina lots of questions about real estate and Realty Executives specifically. “Tina explained what sets REI apart from other agencies is that the people here truly care about you and are like one big family; that everyone supports one another and actually wants to see you be successful. I told myself, if I want to be even as half as good as Tina, then I definitely want to surround myself with the same caliber of compassionate professionals. So here I am! And I am excited to learn and grow my own business with REI!” – Jennie This my friends, is healthy, vibrant growth! One of our passionate, established Sales Executives sharing all that makes Realty Executives Integrity the BEST place to practice real estate with their friends. Jennie already had a passion for real estate and Tina simply shared the truth about REI and why Jennie should be here. She is now being mentored in our Success Coaching program. In this mentoring program, Morgan Sampson walks with our Executives through 5 closed transactions to establish a healthy foundation in the business and has an amazingly vibrant future in the business! The rest of the story is unfolding as I speak! We are thrilled to be equipped and ready to walk with Sales Executives when they join; whether they are newly licensed or an established agent who desires to take their career to the next level and grow their own business! We now have the systems, trainings, tools & resources to guide our Executives on their individual Path to Mastery towards their own goals. We have an exclusive offer for the pre-licensing course (half the cost!), OnBoarding & Executive Launch, Success Coaching, new Buffini real estate training, two exclusive Star Power classes for high level training, office space incentives (six months FREE and six months at HALF the cost), along with our masterminds and monthly gatherings! Where do you want to take your business? | Who do you know that would benefit from what we offer? | What goals do you have? Let’s get you on YOUR custom Path to Mastery!

Systems to Balance

Life is all about balance. Sometimes it feels like a circus act — spinning multiple plates, trying not to drop any. Whether you’re a parent, a busy real estate agent or someone just getting started in your career, it can be difficult to keep those plates from shattering in the middle of a busy routine. The struggle isn’t just real, it is constant; but, there is a better way to run your life without running yourself into the ground. It’s called finding balance, and it is essential to Living the Good Life. When we achieve this, we gain the ability to create a life we love and are we able to better serve those around us. Balance is a journey taken in steps, not leaps and bounds. Start by making a few adjustments to the way you approach your life. Set Your Priorities You need to separate the essential items on your plate from the ones throwing it off balance. Each month, take 30 minutes to list out your priorities. Specifically, focus on your Five Circles — spiritual, family, business, financial and personal. Write down one or two top priorities for each one. Next, write down the list of everything on which you’re currently spending time. Compare the lists, and hack away at the nonessential items. Politely decline from participating further in the organizations that are not helping you reach your primary goals. Let go of the weekly social event that leaves you feeling irritated. Moving forward, before you put more items on your plate, make sure they’re aligned with your priorities. Manage Your Time Productively Once you have a shorter, more intentional list of obligations, you’ll need to create time and space for these important items in your schedule. Be strategic about where you focus your time and energy. Your top priorities go into the calendar first. Schedule your most important activities and protect these time slots from the seemingly “urgent” fires that always break out during the day. After critical items are scheduled, add other work and personal commitments. Oh by the way, it’s normal for a few things to slip through the cracks — be gentle with yourself! Remember, creating space for the things that matter will help you feel better, more focused and confident as you navigate your busy life. Leave Room For Growth When you feed your mind, you feed that desire we all have for growth and improvement. You become more fulfilled and confident in your day-today life. Unfortunately, personal growth is something we very easily skip over as we attempt to find balance in all other areas of our lives. Figure out a few ways you can build your skills and mind. Set aside an hour each week to learn. Take a cooking class, read an eye-opening book or sharpen your business skills with training and development. Whatever form of growth you choose, make sure you commit to it. This will help keep you sharp and energized, giving you the capacity necessary to handle anything life may throw at you.”

Relax and Recharge We always seem to put ourselves last. We feel guilty if we step away and take time for ourselves, our families and other favorite pursuits. This mindset needs to shift — don’t make self-care the first plate you drop! Take time to recharge, however that may look for you. Maybe you start your day with a walk or quiet meditation, allowing time to focus on gratitude, goals and inspiration. Plan short breaks into your day so you can reset between tasks or appointments. Schedule at least one day off a week and a few vacations each year to give you and your family rewards to look forward to. The benefits are immense - you’ll reset your mind and relax and connect with your friends and family. No matter how you recharge, make sure that time away remains a priority and actually leaves you feeling refreshed! … I encourage you to work through these steps and implement these strategies as soon as you can. Trying to do everything results in nothing being done well. When things are crazy and you feel out of control, remember what’s important to you. Ditch whatever isn’t leading you toward your goals or helping you grow into the person you want to be. Take care of yourself and your priorities. When you do, you’ll be focused and productive, not flustered and overwhelmed. Let’s make the good life happen!

Timesaving Tip: Airplane Mode The weapon of mass distraction is just that — distracting! One of my favorite smartphone features is airplane mode. This feature turns off your phone’s ability to receive calls or texts. If you have a major project or activity that requires a nice chunk of time to complete, set your phone to airplane mode for 30-90 minutes to eliminate distractions. You can also try Do Not Disturb mode, which silences notifications, calls and texts while the phone is locked (you can allow communication from designated emergency contacts if you’d like). You’ll be shocked at how much progress you can make without the phone. You’ll feel less frazzled and more in control; you’ll also gain time to increase presence and productivity. It’s a mini digital detox!

MASTERMIND ROUND UP

r e b m e v o N -

s s e n i s u B 0 2 20 g n i n Plan

North Shore Mastermind | NSeven Coffee

“The meeting was a great balance of discussing ways to Evaluate your Current Business Plan & Practices from Prospecting, Accounting, and Action Plans to Following Up with Clients. We touched on current struggles or challenges and how to overcome and why Goal setting is vitally important to prospering. Yet, a common denominator among the group was how to achieve the perfect Harmony between our work life & personal life. Dana provided a Great Book Suggestion: Off Balance Author: Matthew Kelly. Everyone received a business planning packet by Debbie De Grote from EXEC University in PrimeAgent. We touched on the revisions of the WB-11 Residential Offer To Purchase and the new flow of the document and wrapped up with an overview of FRTPA & requirements to provide to clients when taking a listing $300k+. Agent/Broker's responsibility to deliver only to clients NOT to retain a signed copy at all in our records. Joe Alvarez suggested to include a Return Address Envelope to Knight Barry with his name when providing the form to the client to help expedite. (The form MUST be in 14 days before closing). All of this over a cup of coffee. Peers & Friendship. I would say it was a Perfect Blend! I am Grateful this Thanksgiving for the REI Family.” | Brenda Samuel • Cedarburg Office

“My biggest take away was actually the FIRPTA discussion and learning that if the seller has a social security number, that is a key that they are exempt. And just the logistics of the FIRPTA which I did not understand.” | Kim Peterson • Cedarburg Office

“Every day is a bonus” is the mindset embroidered on the hearts of every individual connected with the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Wisconsin. The root of that sentiment originated with a WWII POW, Joe Demler of Port Washington, who was captured by the Germans in the “Battle of the Bulge” almost 75 years ago. "One thing I learned there, I learned to pray, and I learned that every day is a bonus," said Demler. "You can't have a defeatist attitude." Hearing this story, I promised myself that no matter how terrible I think my situation is I will apply the “every day is a bonus” mentality each day moving forward. My one-day adventure as a guardian on a Stars and Stripe Honor Flight has irrevocably changed all my days for the rest of my life. I went in with all of these preconceived ideas of how I’d feel, how I’d respond and what I’d witness; which goes out the door the moment you walk into the airport. Our journey began with a 5:30am role call at the airport amongst a battalion of volunteers. Each one thanking Dave for his service and tending to every detail of our check-in with the utmost respect and care. This role call felt like how royalty would be treated; no need, want or wish was not attended to in immediate fashion. As we began our check in, I remember being struck by the thought. The knowledge contained within this airport at this moment in time would far exceed anything I could read or find on a library shelf. These men and women were living, breathing historical treasures filled with experiences that many of us have been spared from carrying because of their sacrifice. As we moved toward our departing gate, my gaze caught a dark blue jacket surrounded by a sea of baby blue. You see, the colors of your jacket signify the war in which you served. Baby blue represented our Vietnam Veterans and navy blue signaled a WWII veteran. That was the first of many moments that I felt a lump in my throat and my eyes began to mist. I sat and stared at this aged warrior, proudly wearing his Army hat decked out with pins; I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his mind? Bruce, a noble WW11 army medic, saluted every single veteran that made his acquaintance. No matter your age, physical state or rank in life, respect translates it all.

An Unexpected Journey

There and Back Again

Dave Delahunt & Dana Keegan Vietnam Memorial

As we boarded the plane, vets were sat next to each other and their guardians sat in the row behind them. As the plane took off, the guardian to my left Isabella, the 19-year grandchild of a Vietnam vet and Mark to my right, the soon to be retired son of a Vietnam vet buckled ourselves into quite possibly the smallest airplane seats in aviation history. I watched as conversations amongst the veterans exploded all over the plane and for many, it was the first time in years they spoke of their war experience. None of these individuals knew each other, but there was an undeniable brotherhood amongst these men. Our landing at BWI was met with a water gun salute, and an army of active service men and women to greet us as we made our way to the buses. The entire day included a police escort by Washington’s finest and the bus NEVER stopped once between destinations. I am convinced I’m ruined for life, as the thought of sitting in traffic ever again seems unbearable. Our time at the memorials was haunting, humbling and for many healing. From the Lincoln Memorial, to the WWII, to the Vietnam and the Korean, it was a visual reminder of just how many young men and women lost their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy today. Having visited on Veteran’s day weekend, many family members of those fallen made the pilgrimage to honor their loved one and the hundreds of photos of young men were lovingly placed against the memorials will humble me for the rest of my life.

Our final stop was the Air Force memorial, which seemed fitting given this was Dave’s branch of service. The memorial includes 3 towering spires to represent the contrails of the AF Thunderbirds as they disperse in a “bomb burst” maneuver. It also represents a tragic point of US history in 2001 when the Pentagon was attacked by a hijacked plane. Those spires were placed to prevent a direct “fly in” to the building and avert that type of attack from happening again. As I gazed out over the darkening Washington skyline, it hit me how blessed I was to be a part of this day. It was a connection to my father and insight to a defining part of his life. The most incredible part of my day was when we landed in GMI. As we deboarded the plane, we walked through a salutatory aisle of service men and women representing all the branches of the armed forces. Vets and guardians alike were overwhelmed at this display of honor and respect. I tear up typing this line because it’s an indescribable experience to be boots on the ground for. As we made our way through the concourse, I could hear the cheers and clapping of the roughly 1,500-2,000 strangers who were on hand to welcome our Veterans home. For some, this was the kind of homecoming they never got, but rightfully deserved. Several members of our REI family were on hand to welcome us home. Both Dave and I were OVERWHELMED to see so many of you there…we couldn’t stop talking about it the entire way home. It’s a reminder that we don’t’ just work together, we are FAMILY and we do life together. Dave Delahunt, “thank you” will never be enough for giving me this life changing opportunity. I am so grateful at the chance to have shared this experience with YOU and allowing me to be your guardian for the day. I’ll be your wingman anytime. Dana Keegan

EXECUTIVE H I G H L I G H T S I had been in the automobile industry for 42 years prior to joining Realty Executives. My wife, June, had been with Realty Executives and was extremely happy with the company. Soon after I joined the team, Tom Verette sold to Dale Schaechterle – who is a prince of a person! Dale and his staff are people oriented and a pleasure to be associated with. Doug Dann | Brookfield Office

16 years ago this month, it became clear that I needed to leave one of the conventional real estate companies where I worked for 10 years. For personal & financial reasons, it was time for me to leave so I researched many companies. My wife, Joyce joined me as a team in 2012. It was a slam dunk that elevating myself to the "Executive Level" was the best fit for me & this is even more true today! Realty Executives Integrity continues to improve through the years. Joyce and I are very proud to be part of REI for the following reasons: 1.

Strong International Brand with the truest form of independent contractor status in the industry. The name "Realty Executives" is a great reflection of this.

2.

Exceptional Leadership in owner Dale Schaechterle & Leadership Team. Decisions are always made with the intention of adding value for the Executives/agents in addition to the growth of the company.

3.

High quality support staff and Designated Realtors (DRs) . We always know that we can count on them when needed.

4.

High quality offices that are nicely updated. We are proud to meet our clients there and schedule our closings there whenever possible.

5.

Knight Barry Title partnership. KBT is simply the best title company we have ever worked with.

6.

Husband & Wife team costs are extremely competitive.

7.

All buyer inquiries on listings go directly to listing agents.

8.

The Art of Customer Service: Why it Should Always Be a Top Priority Article Courtesy of: EXEC Magazine

Providing good customer service. Such a simple concept and a necessity in today’s customer centric on-demand world. Yet it seems to be somewhat of a unique and sometimes hard-to-find skill in business. It is both art and science. Customer service plays an essential role in basically every industry, which is why companies holistically need to embrace customer service in an integrated way for it impacts their bottom line. In the real estate industry, the quality and value of customer service – from real estate agents, brokers, brokerages, teams and companies alike – must be strong, concise, authentic, integrated and memorable in order to be successful and market aligned. In a recent survey by American Express, “seven in 10 U.S. consumers say they’ve spent more money to do business with a company that delivers great service.” To succeed, businesses will need to coach their customer service representatives to use a personal touch, maintain a positive tone, be proactive about resolving concerns and respond promptly to questions. As a benchmark standard, at Realty Executives, 91% of customer service chats are answered in less than a minute – an unparalleled comparison to competing real estate brands. This performance, highlights the Realty Executives value proposition of delivering quality customer service to its agents who in turn, deliver superb customer service to their clients. The most successful agents come from real estate firms that prioritize the customer service experience both within and external to the organization. Much like Amazon, who is a gold standard of superior service, Realty Executives strives to put the customer at the center of everything it does. While customers can range from franchisees to brokers, agents, home buyers and sellers, the Realty Executives customer service model remains a pillar of their business model and is an integral piece to the company’s continued success. Real Estate agents and brokers can adopt best practices – like Amazon’s – to apply to their own business model. Here are five of Amazon’s best practices to consider for a customer service centric business: 1. Start everything with a core commitment to the customer Customer service is in the DNA of a successful business. 2. Build a corporate culture that knows how to listen When you listen, you understand. By understanding, you can take the appropriate steps to meet the needs of your customers. 3. Make personal interactions easy Human interaction is an important role to ensure quality customer service. 4. Help your buyer stay connected Always keep mobile in mind. 5. Make your customer needs the driver of innovation Create your own tools that meet the demands of your customers. Customer preferences are always evolving so let their needs drive your innovation. Overall, customer service is about going the extra mile to make sure your clients are satisfied. It is delivering on a promise that is beyond what the expectation is. Making the effort creates the intrinsic value that will keep your customers coming back for your service time and time again. Whether it’s being there as a listening ear when they’re worried about finding the perfect home or taking the time to go through home staging tips, being available, in the present, and supporting your clients is the key to creating long-lasting and valuable business relationships. Take care of your customers and your customers will take care of you.

g n i r o Ment e t u n i M With Success Coach Morgan Sampson

What’s Happening This Month This month we have been getting our businesses on Google and also beginning to work on our marketing plans for 2020! We are also doing our Path to Mastery meetings & planning our goals for next year - not only looking at what we want to make, but what we need to be doing daily, weekly, monthly, in order to hit our goals!

Success Story The mentoring program has been a HUGE contributor to my success in real estate as well as with Realty Executives Integrity. The program, under Morgan's leadership, has taken all of the information I learned in my pre-licensing course and turned it into actionable steps and practical how-to's to ensure I have all the tools necessary to provide excellent professional service to my clients. Having someone to check and monitor my first several transactions has helped me to know I'm handling each transaction properly. Monty Stallings Sales Executive Lake Country Office

This program has provided me the instruction, accountability, networking opportunities, and safety net to get my business of to a great start! I highly recommend the mentoring program to any Realtor who is new to real estate or to Realty Executives Integrity.
