What a powerful community we have!

With your help and support, Red Deer College has realized the decades long dream of achieving university status. We’ve made incredible strides toward becoming a carbon neutral campus and equipped learners in a variety of programs to bring energy literacy and alternative energy solutions into their careers.

We’ve increased our footprint by a third, and made room for 145 new learners to live on campus. And, we’ve built a state-of-the-art learning and recreation facility that connects social and sport spaces with innovative classrooms, cutting-edge equipment and the natural areas on campus.

We didn’t do any of this alone.

From the dreaming stage, through the planning and execution, and now as we inhabit these spaces, we’ve always worked together. The professional achievements of our alumni support our College’s reputation, our commitment to serve the community is activated through our partnerships, and your financial support helps us provide opportunities, and set new goals for what we can achieve.

“I truly enjoyed my time at RDC - both for school and for sports. I took part in Paving Our Future, and thought that the Take A Seat campaign was another way I could give back to the Athletics department at the College as well as to create a memory and legacy for my son – especially if he attends RDC down the road. We frequently attend Kings and Queens games together and I look forward to attending some of the events being held there next year.”

That’s why we’re inviting you to Take A Seat. Donations of $500 or more to the Athletics Leadership Fund Endowment will be recognized with a personalized, engraved plaque, which will be placed in perpetuity on one of the 2300 seats in the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

Your plaque can commemorate your own legacy in sports, your child’s academic journey, an important milestone, or the life of a loved one. Donations can be made at once, or spread out over a year, and you can choose which seat you’d like to have your plaque installed on.

The Athletics Leadership Fund Endowment directly supports the sustainability of RDC student-athlete scholarships. When we reduce financial commitments for our learners, they spend more time studying, volunteering, and participating in student life and leadership in ways that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Imagine the visual for our learners, to look out across the Gym with plaques installed on every seat and see the community and legacy they belong to, as a part of the RDC community. Imagine the feeling for young, aspiring athletes practicing in the Ice Arena. As they consider the paths their lives might take, together we can inspire them to see themselves as part of a supportive community, proud of our legacy and committed to continuing it.
