RCSI Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) was established in 2004 as a constituent university of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), bringing over 240 years of excellence in healthcare education to Bahrain. RCSI Bahrain is licensed and accredited by the Higher Education Council in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Like its counterpart in Dublin, RCSI Bahrain is a not-for-profit health sciences institution dedicated to education, research and innovation, with a mission to drive positive change in human health worldwide. Today, RCSI Bahrain’s purpose-built campus is home to more than 1,700 students studying across the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and Postgraduate Studies and Research. The campus features modern teaching spaces, advanced laboratories, a library and learning resource centre, dedicated student support services, and extensive sports and recreational amenities. As part of our ongoing investment in the student experience, the campus is expanding with a new Academic Building that will provide innovative teaching, learning and collaborative spaces, creating an even more dynamic environment for students to learn, connect and thrive. Through the provision of high-quality transnational education aligned across three continents, RCSI Bahrain is recognised around the world for producing practice-ready graduates who can compete for international places.

Medicine Programme At RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, we graduate medicine students who are not only knowledgeable in medical science but are also exceptionally well trained as clinicians.

The Undergraduate Medicine programme offers two entry pathways. Students can enter the five-year programme directly or choose the sixyear pathway, which includes a foundation year designed to support the transition from secondary to tertiary education. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded a globally recognised medical degree, opening doors to postgraduate training and career opportunities internationally. Fees

Medical Commencement Programme The Medical Commencement Programme (MCP) is designed to provide a learning path in English language and basic sciences to those who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine but require some specific additional knowledge.

It aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to bridge the gap from second-level education to third-level medical school education. Upon successful completion of this one-year programme, candidates will progress to the Foundation Year stage of the undergraduate medicine programme.

Nursing Programme The BSc Nursing programme is a four-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare compassionate, competent and future-ready nurses for today’s healthcare environment. The Programme combines academic study with hands-on clinical experience, developing student’s knowledge, practical skills and professional confidence needed to deliver high-quality patient care. The curriculum is delivered by experienced nursing academics through lectures, simulation, skills laboratories, case-based learning and supervised clinical placements across a range of healthcare settings in Bahrain. Graduates are awarded a globally recognised BSc (Hons) Nursing degree from RCSI Medical University of Bahrain and the National University of Ireland (NUI), providing a strong foundation for rewarding nursing careers and further professional development. Your Application Journey Apply

Complete the online application and upload the required supporting documents. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application.

Interview

Eligible applicants will be invited to an online interview. The interview provides an opportunity for our faculty to learn more about your motivation, communication skills and suitability for a career in healthcare. Nursing applicants complete a one-way pre-recorded interview.

Receive Your Offer

Following review by the Admissions Committee, you will be notified of the outcome of your application. Successful applicants may receive a Full Offer or a Conditional Offer, while other applicants may be placed on a waiting list, subject to programme availability.

Scholarships A range of scholarship opportunities is available for eligible undergraduate Medicine and Nursing applicants, a academic excellence, achievements and potential.

Scholarships may provide partial or full tuition fee support and are awarded through a competitive selection process. Eligibility criteria and application requirements vary by scholarship.
