SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE Cycling and walking in the countryside? Enjoying yourself and relaxing on a beach? Sports, and having fun, on water? You can do it all in RCN Holiday Parks! To make it easier for you, you can see below which type of RCN Holiday Park suits you and your group best. If you’re wondering where the parks are, go back to page 2 for a handy overview.

WOODLAND PARK Wake up in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by woodland, heath and fens... RCN’s woodland parks are all in, or close to, a conservation area and are characterised by everything beautiful that nature has to offer. Walking, cycling, mountain biking or spotting wildlife, you can do it all from here.

WATER PARK Get up and go! At the RCN water parks you can go surfing, sailing and canoeing as much as you want - or learn it at the surfing and sailing schools there. The water parks offer you direct access to the water from the jetty so that you can sail to the towns and villages in the area without any messing about.

BEACH PARK Sun, sea and sand, now that’s a holiday! Whether you prefer to take it easy or to go on a strenuous walk along the shore or a cycle ride through the dunes, you can do it all here. But there are also more adventurous activities in the area, of course, like kitesurfing and and blokarting.

OUTDOOR SPORTS CAMPING SITE For the real lover of outdoor sports, RCN has its adventurous camping sites for outdoor sports.

You can have a fantastic time canyoning, kayaking, rafting, motorcycling and cycle racing. The contrasts in height in the area guarantee that you’ll be confronted by terrific challenges and when you’re tired and have had enough for the day, you can take a refreshing dip in the pool.

COUNTRY FAMILY CAMPING SITE Peace, open space and the beauty of nature are central to our country family camping sites.

Enjoy the beautiful view from your pitch or get out there and explore the UNESCO conservation area by foot or bicycle or on a beautiful drive. There is always enough to do for young and old on the camping site and in the authentic towns and villages.

MULTIFACETED FAMILY CAMPING SITE An RCN multifaceted family camping site means a holiday where there’s all sorts to do, but you can also enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. WHY ELSE RCN? √ NO EXTRA COSTS At RCN Holiday Parks the booking fees are included in all the prices so there aren’t any unexpected compulsory extra costs. The only thing that is extra is the tourist tax. √ FREE BOOKING CHANGES You can change a booking at RCN for free for one of our other parks if it is for the same period and if there is availability. The only extra costs will be if there is a difference in price. No refunds based on price differences will be made. √ FLEXIBLE BOOKING You can choose the day when you arrive and leave at RCN. This applies to pitches and most types of accommodation including, with some exceptions, school holidays and special periods, so you’re not stuck with fixed arrival and departure dates. √ FREE WIFI You get free WiFi for one device at all RCN Holiday Parks. If you want WiFi for more devices, cards can be bought at reception or can be booked in advance in the My RCN environment.

HANDY APP There is a special RCN app for our guests. It allows you to log in to the MyRCN environment where you can find all the information about your booking, make payments and book extras. It also means that you always have useful information about your holiday. It provides you with up to date opening times, the recreational programme, tips about the area and much more. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

EXTRAS PREFERENCE BOOKING On all RCN parks specific places can be booked for a preference fee. You can indicate your preferred place on the park map when booking online.

END-OF-STAY CLEAN-UP Make it easy for yourself and let us do the end-of-stay clean-up for you.1 You can, of course, opt to clean the accommodation yourself.2

TOWELS AND SHEETS You can rent bedlinen at RCN and at the parks in the Netherlands and you can have your beds made for you. A towel set, consisting of a bath towel and small towel, can also be booked.

BABY ACCESSOIRES RCN provides a child’s bed/cot, baby bath and baby chair free of charge3 on request in the Netherlands when renting accommodation and for a small fee in France. The child’s bed/ cot has a fixed, thin mattress.

PETS Pets are welcome at the RCN parks.4 A second pet will only be permitted on request. An endof-stay clean-up is also compulsory.

AT HOME IN PROVENCE

Immerse yourself in the Mediterranean atmosphere of Provence at RCN Domaine de la Noguière. The surroundings are beautiful: the camping site offers a spectacular view of the red rocks of the Roquebrune and the sunset in the mountainous scenery is breathtaking. The Mediterranean Sea lies about 16 kilometres from the camping site, and that means: beautiful beaches and bustling cities. Or visit the convivial Sainte-Maxime and, from there by boat, Saint-Tropez.

But even on the camping site there’s enough to do for young and old. The water park consists of two swimming pools with slides. And for the more daring of all ages, there’s the Adventure Park. Supervised by professional guides, you make your way through the Mediterranean dunes on the exciting climbing course and finish on a spectacular zip line.

RCN les Collines de Castellane lies in the foothills of the French Alps near the famous Gorges du Verdon. The countryside is diverse: the canyons and lakes and the contrasts in height lend themselves wonderfully to an active holiday for all ages. On the camping site itself you’ll find families with children, hikers, competitive cyclists and motorcyclists. The site consists of terraces, so that pitches have a unique view of the mountainous landscape.

Just 15 minutes’ drive away, behind the mountains, is the azure blue Lac de Castillon - the ideal place for a swim, a pedalo or a kayak. But if you prefer a swimming pool, the camping site itself has a water park with triple slide and a wooden sun terrace. Children and teenagers can also amuse themselves in the Adventure Park on the rope course and zipline.

RCN les Collines de Castellane is also on the Route de Napoleon. This is the route that the general took from the coast to Paris to seize power again. There are many monuments in the area that commemorate this famous journey.

IN THE AREA

If you’re on holiday at RCN les Collines de Castellane, you can’t not visit the famous Gorges du Verdon. At 25 km long, this is the largest gorge in Europe and it offers spectacular views and because the landscape is so raw, it offers all sorts of opportunities for activities like canyoning, rafting and paragliding. And if you prefer something less active, wander through the French markets and down the alleyways of a snug Provençal town and taste the local delicacies.

RCN Belledonne is located on the edge of a conservation area, the Parc Nationale des Écrins. This part of the French Alps is also known for the mountains and hills in the Tour de France. Despite the differences in height, RCN Belledonne is situated on a sunny plateau. Not only is the terrain entirely flat but easily accessible. Guests at the camping site are confronted by the view of the impressive peaks of the French Alps. Belledonne is therefore the perfect base for adventurous families, serious cyclists, mountain bikers and hikers. After a trek over the de Alpe d’Huez, Croix de Fer and Glandon, you can relax completely in the sauna and hammam on the camping site. Younger guests can enjoy themselves on the multisport terrain with football, table tennis and boules. And how about a dip in one of the two heated swimming pools?

RCN la Bastide en Ardèche is situated on the bank of the well-known Ardèche river, close to the famous Pont d’Arc. The location between the river and the 17th century castle Château de Sampzon lends something idyllic to a holiday on the camping site. Pitches and accommodation are surrounded by nature. When night falls, you can hear the music of the crickets outside your tent or trailer-chalet and, in the background, the murmuring of the Ardèche. La Bastide en Ardèche has been included several times in the Top Ten of the best camping sites for children in Europe. There are walks and cycle routes from the camping site along rock formations and amazing grottos.

You can also rent a kayak or pedalo under the famous Pont d’Arc. Typical for the area are the French towns, river beaches and caves with stalactites and stalagmites, like the Aven d’Orgnac.

PANORAMA OF THE SOUTH The camping site RCN Val de Cantobre in Nant in the South of France has a panoramic view of the limestone plateaus and wooded hills of the conservation area Les Grands Causses.

RCN Val de Cantobre is situated in the middle of the unspoilt Les Grands Causses conservation area. The camping site lies on the River Dourbie, between extraordinary rock formations, areas of green grassy plains and deciduous trees.

The water level in the river is low in summer so that even the smallest guests can play there to their hearts’ content. A number of medieval buildings betray the fact that RCN Val de Cantobre is located in a centuries-old domain. The terraced camping site is laid out on a large hill, entirely in the south. All the pitches and accommodation have enough sun as a consequence and there is a sweeping, panoramic view from most places. Activities are organised for various age groups.

You’re even in the right place for the biggest water fun: the swimming pool has a triple slide and a forty metre long wild water chute.

Thanks to the history and the contrasts in height, the surroundings lend themselves to all sorts of cultural and physical activities. Visit the centuriesold Knights Templar village of La Couvertoirade and taste the local delicacies, paddle in a canoe along a river or climb into a wetsuit and go canyoning. PICTURESQUE ESTATE Enjoy your holiday on the five-star camping site RCN le Moulin de la Pique in the fairy-tale surroundings of castles and countryside.

Luxury and comfort take pride of place on the five-star camping site RCN le Moulin de la Pique on a historic estate in the Dordogne, and authentic nineteenth century buildings and pink magnolias lend the site its classic ambience. This romanticism and all the extensive facilities allow you to imagine that you’re in paradise. The luxury accommodation ranges from trailer-chalets to authentic holiday homes built in the style of the Périgord. You may also want to opt for glamping in the form of a fully furnished safari tent. Hard core campers, on the other hand, usually rent one of the well-maintained pitches. There is lots to do for children of all ages. There are as many as four swimming pools with three spectacular water slides. Are you brave enough to let yourself be carried down the 45 metre long Crazy River in your swimming ring?

RCN la Ferme du Latois is located on former farmland along the west coast of France. The charm of the French countryside is not just in the surroundings, but on the camping site itself. The farmhouse and stables dating from 1800 are still there, but now function as main building and recreation area. The farmland offers lots of space: pitches are as large as 230 square metres and, on the camping site, there is more than enough space to play. Walking and cycling is very pleasant here because the area is fairly flat by French standards.

You can visit a castle and you may pass fields of sunflowers along the way. Next to the camping site are beaches, a lake and a large survival park. The famous island Noirmoutier and the Puy du Fou theme park are also highly recommended.

OASIS ON SEA In a Brittany bay lies RCN Port l’Épine. The view of the sea makes this cosy camping site a unique place for walkers, watersport enthusiasts and culture and beach lovers.

The family camping site RCN Port l’Épine can be found on a peninsula on the Brittany coast, right next to the Atlantic Ocean. The small size of the site is the reason for its personal and safe atmosphere: even the smallest guests can wander around freely.

Port l’Épine offers uniquely placed pitches with a view of the sea, and there are even pitches that are right next to the water. Further up, there are whimsically laid-out camping areas where trees and bushes offer privacy and protection from the sun.

You can expect a typically Brabantine welcome at RCN de Flaasbloem. The park is situated in the middle of the woods and close to the Burgundian cities of Brabant and Belgium.

You’re at the right place at RCN de Flaasbloem if you really want to experience the countryside. The park has spacious pitches offering both sun and shade, and you can even opt for your own private toilet and wash facilities. To experience camping at its best, there’s the Wildenberg nature area: almost 25 acres of unspoilt nature. No pitches or cars, you just pick a spot for your tent yourself. And if you prefer something less basic, there are spacious trailer-chalets, luxury bungalows, atmospheric Finnish lodges and tent lodges from which you can just walk into the woods. The chalets on the mere and the water lodges on the Smokkelstrand are very popular. You have a view across the water from your own terrace. The mere is a pleasure for young and old, whether swimming in open water, relaxing in the sunbathing area or playing around its banks.

Anyone who likes being on water is at the right place in RCN de Schotsman. The sailing and surfing school in the park offers lessons at various levels and boats can be hired as well. There is also waterskiing and an exciting aquapark within walking distance. If you prefer to stay onshore, there’s lots of fun to be had in the outdoor swimming pool and on its slides and one of the cleanest beaches in the Netherlands is just three kilometres away if you’re looking for relaxation. The pitches on the camping site each have their own atmosphere: open places with views of the water and sheltered spots in convivial camping areas. The various types of accommodation are located next to the water and a number even offer a beautiful view across the Veerse Meer. RCN het Grote Bos is set in the protected woods of the Utrecht Hill Ridge National Park (Nationaal Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug), surrounded by magnificent trees and impressive, classic estates. Although it feels smaller, the park itself is almost 200 acres. The playful layout, mixing up buildings and camping pitches, lends the park a cosy and easy-going ambience. Children can enjoy themselves in the woods and quickly make holiday friends. They can also have hours of fun in the outdoor swimming pool and with the interactive football wall. For the more adventurous there’s the children’s cyclo-cross course and a challenging survival course run by the non-profit organisation Hang-On. Some of the Netherlands’ most beautiful mountain bike routes are also nearby. You’ll enjoy your holiday in the middle of nature at RCN de Jagerstee. Guests wake up every day to the sound of birdsong and with a bit of luck, you’ll even come across other woodland residents: squirrels and rabbits hop between the pitches and accommodation and there are lots of deer around the park. The uninterrupted experience of the countryside means that the rest of the world seems faraway. That said, the convivial centre of Epe is just three kilometres away. Families at RCN de Jagerstee experience the ultimate in holiday pleasure, in no small way due to the many facilities in the park.

Between the romantic towns and villages of Drenthe, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, is the holiday park RCN de Noordster. It lies in the middle of the Dwingelderveld National Park so that the view is full of flora and fauna, and you reach your pitch or accommodation via winding woodland paths. The pitches are unique open places in the woods, lending the ultimate feeling of freedom and tranquillity. Accommodation is also spread throughout the wood and offers lots of privacy. Nature lovers can indulge themselves in RCN de Roggeberg in Appelscha.

The holiday park is in the middle of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park on the border between Drenthe and Friesland. The natural pattern of woodland, pitches and accommodation makes you almost forget that you’re in a holiday park. The spaciously arranged pitches are at least one hundred square metres and surrounded by trees and bushes and if you’re observant, you might just see a squirrel or rabbit hopping away. The park now has a brand new, covered play area. Young children can amuse themselves in the large sandpit with play equipment or go on the go-cart and bicycle track while a panna football cage, outdoor track and youth club keep their older brothers and sisters busy.

Walkers and cyclists flit from dune to fen, and from heath to wood. As well as the many paths and bicycle routes the surroundings also offer three official mountain bike routes that start at the park.

ENJOY A HOLIDAY NEXT TO THE WATER Watersport Walhalla RCN de Potten is completely surrounded by the Frisian meres, including the well-known Sneekmeer.

The mere is well known as a place for activities and adventure on the water. It’s not surprising that watersport enthusiasts come from far and wide to spend their holiday here. The park has its own sailing school where you can learn the basics or the finesses from professional instructors. The camping site harbour is unique: the pitches here are immediately next to the water and each has its own berth.

You can jump out of your tent or caravan into your boot for a scouting expedition.

Even the new glamping accommodation has direct access to the water. And you can rent an extra berth, no problem! Take a boat with you and launch it from the slipway, and if you don’t have your own boat, you can always rent dinghies, motorboats, canoes and pedalos.

Lovers of watersports can sail to the nearby Starteiland, famous for the Sneekweek sailing festival and the Frisian regatta Skûtsjesilen, but there’s also enough to see on foot, by bicycle or car, like the Jopie Huisman Museum, dedicated to the Frisian painter, and the Woudagemaal, the biggest steam pump ever built in the world, Leeuwarden, European Capital of Culture 2018, or one of the other eleven towns of Friesland.

A stay right next to the Sneekmeer, the most famous mere in Friesland, is almost unsurpassable. The 50 villas and 20 luxury water homes offer space for a luxurious and relaxed watersport holiday: spacious accommodation, modern bathrooms and you can sit on the comfortable outdoor furniture on the terraces and listen to the rustling of the reeds. The homes are also provided with a landing or mooring for your own or rented boat, so you can sail away on the Sneekermeer any time you want. Villapark Sneekermeer is part of RCN de Potten. The Smient, suitable for six people, has a spacious living room with an open kitchen. Folding doors open out on to the wooden terrace where you can sunbathe for as long as you want on comfortable outdoor furniture.

Some of these homes are fenced off to protect small children. There are three double bedrooms on the first floor and a modern bathroom.

VILLA RIETZANGER

Like the Smient, this villa is suitable for six people. However, the Rietzanger has a more spacious and luxurious bathroom on the first floor with shower, bath and second toilet. The L-shaped living room with open kitchen is spacious and atmospheric. The folding doors allow plenty of light in and lead onto a fully furnished terrace.

VILLA GOUDPLEVIER

Villatype Goudplevier accommodates six to ten people. There is a fully furnished kitchen and living room on the ground floor, in addition to a double bedroom with patio doors and en suite bathroom. On the first floor, there are three double bedrooms and a fully furnished bathroom. Some Goudplevier villas have a sauna and whirlpool.

REAL EXCITEMENT IS CANYONING Will you be shooting down natural ‘slides’ on your next holiday, wringing and writhing around rocks and allowing yourself to be carried along by the rapids?

The surroundings of RCN Val de Cantobre and Les Collines de Castellane are perfect for perhaps the most adventurous outdoor sport: canyoning. Are you brave enough?

For children, staying at RCN Holiday Parks means a holiday full of fun and adventure.

To organise all our activities, the recreation team is helped by Alex Adventure and his dog Sammy. The two friends live in the park and are always ready to go off with you.

ON THE TRAIL TOGETHER The Adventure Card Tasks can be easily accomplished alone, but it is, of course, more fun if you join the Adventure Card Club and set off with Alex and Sammy. How about building a hut in the woods or letting off steam on the sports field with your holiday friends?

Alex and Sammy are best friends and are always looking for adventure. They have tremendous fun and they undertake tasks, experiments and treasure hunts together. Alex has one big ambition: he wants to become a real adventurer, but that’s not so easy with a naughty dog like Sammy. Going on an adventure is exciting but Alex and Sammy aren’t always successful in completing their tasks. If you like adventure as well, then you can help Alex and Sammy. Undertake an adventure with other children in the park, that way you’ll soon make new friends and experience something exciting and unforgettable.

Real adventurers love investigating and examining things, that’s why all young guests receive an Adventure Card on arrival. You’ll find Adventure Trail Poles spread across the holiday park with tasks. Every completed task earns you a sticker which you can put on your Adventure Card. You’re a real adventurer once you’ve collected all the stickers and then you can expect a surprise. Children who can’t get enough of it can get to work on extra tasks.

But after a super-mega-cool holiday with Alex and Sammy it isn’t any fun to have to say goodbye, so anyone who wants a souvenir of their adventures can have a photo taken with them. There are also diverse presents in the park for sale, like super Sammy toys and cool key fobs.

Good food and drink, that’s also a part of a holiday. No shopping or washing up, just enjoying yourself. In every RCN Holiday Park you’ll find a nice restaurant, bar or cafe and a fine terrace for something tasty.

SUSTAINABILITY We prefer to use local, organic and Fairtrade products in our park restaurants and more often, there’s also a vegetarian option, that’s how we try to be more sustainable. Take our straws, for example. 100% biodegradable.
