OVERVIEW EXPLANATION

The purpose and point of this “Overview Explanation” is to aid the reader in a comprehensive understanding of the “Chronology of the Church Chronicle” as it is presented in this book. The Bible is not a mere compilation and composition of literary nonsense, but it is rather the powerful, preserved and profound Word of God. Its writings are stated by the apostle Peter to be directed by the Holy Ghost as he said, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost,” (2Pe 1:21). God is its author and artist and it is one of the most fascinating and finest works of art that has ever been given to mankind. The uniqueness and universality of the scripture captivates and commands the attention of men and women of all walks of life. The intellect is mentally spellbound by its depth and the simple is allured by its effect on the heart. The Bible which literally means books is a library of Divine knowledge that had its beginning several thousand years ago. It was written by over forty authors from all stations of life and uniquely and uniformly gives the perfect story of man’s history and God’s involvement in that history. Except for the books of Daniel and Ezra, which partly was written in the Aramaic language, the rest of the books were written primarily in Hebrew or in Greek. From the Hebrew language to translations into Aramaic and finally due to the disbursement of the Jews all over the Hellenistic World, necessitated translations into Greek. This translation is called the Septuagint meaning “seventy” which is thought to stand for the seventy scholars who extensively translated it from Hebrew and Aramaic into Greek. These seventy scholars were separated in groups of two per group and when the final translation was compared, it was in perfect harmony, the reason being that God was preserving His Word. How true to its claim, “For ever, 0 LORD, thy word is settled in heaven,” (Ps 119:89). Water, Fire, Empires, Kings, Caesars and time has not obliterated it nor shall it ever be abolished. A sample of its uniqueness is seen by the major prophet Isaiah. The Bible in whole has sixty six books and Isaiah has sixty six chapters. A correlated and comparative analysis shows that Isaiah with its sixty six chapters has an extant mentioning of something that is to be found in all sixty six books of the Bible. This prophet who lived approximately seven hundred and sixty years before Christ spoke under Divine anointing and God allowed him to write things pertinent to every book of the Bible. This is phenomenal and extremely fascinating when one considers that there were over forty writers of the Bible and these from all walks of life and from a span of several thousand years. This parallel of prophecy is listed in the appendices.
