What’s happening Rosslare Community & Sports Centre. It’s been another great Summer here at the Centre; many tennis balls have sailed over the nets (and sometimes beyond!), the crazy golf course has been covered by several hundred sets of flip flops, and the ice-cream fridge has been in overdrive. We were blessed with the weather and all of our scheduled events such as the Field Day, Beach BBQ, Teddy Bears Picnic, Bake Sale and Dip in the Nip all took place. These events would not have happened only for our kind sponsors, volunteers and all the people who came to support the centre. A huge thank you to the centre staff, whose commitment and willingness to go the extra mile when called on, make theses events possible.

For September classes, clubs and groups are back for another season and a full listing is available on our website and on Facebook. If you haven’t signed up for your newsletter you can do this on our website and it will keep you up to date with all the latest information around the village and the centre. www.rosslareholidayresort.ie Our future development plans for the centre include a refurbishment of the crazy golf course and an addition of CCTV to public areas.

Bricks 4 Kidz Coming in October! Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® workshop – 30 Oct to 2 Nov. Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® themed 4 day Camps have been designed to teach the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math’s (STEM) to girls and boys, aged 5 – 12 in a fun and entertaining way. Children will enjoy using LEGO® Bricks to build specially-designed models, play games, explore the world of engineering, architecture and mathematics. Pumpkins, zombies and withering skeletons will all be featured in our spectacular Halloween Camps. We hope to see all of you LEGO® fanatics there! Follow our Facebook page for details.

Community Book Shelf Please call in, have a browse or grab a coffee, relax in our seating and avail of the FREE WIFI. We ask for a €1 donation; all money raised goes towards the Community of Rosslare. Donations always welcome.

New 2 U Charity Boutique Autumn brings a nip in the air – it might be time for a new cardigan or a light jacket. Drop in for a browse – you might find just what you need! If you discover any unwanted items, please drop them in to the shop Mon – Sat 10am - 5pm. All donations greatly appreciated and all profits are invested in the Community.

Office Admin Service Rosslare Community & Sports Centre can now provide a fully comprehensive office administration package to suit individual needs. In addition to our internet access, print/scan/copy and laminating services, we can now offer quality administration services to include CV production, fliers, reports, correspondence etc. All available at a highly competitive hourly rate. To discuss your requirements, contact us on 053 9132202 or call to the office upstairs in the Centre; we’re open from 9 – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

St Marys GAA – A busy and productive time for the club, with recent successes for the Adult football and hurling teams, the under 13s and the under 17s. The fundraising lottery stands at €17,600 at the time of going to press – tickets can be purchased in various locations throughout the parish. Not just fleet of foot on the pitch, the Club’s Strictly Come Dancing event is on the horizon; still a need for a few participants. Contact Conor Roche on 087 027202

Our volunteers receive training and are Garda vetted. We compliment other services such as home help, home care etc., but DO NOT replace these services. Professional and self-referrals welcome. Bags are provided at the car park and can be deposited in any refuse bin round the village;‘any bin, any bag’.

Coffee & Crochet Club starts back on Tuesday, 11th September at 11am Percussion classes registration on Tuesday 11th September at 4:30pm and Beginner Guitar lessons available from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

More Guitar lessons are available on Wednesday from 4:30pm for two sessions. German Language Group meet every Wednesday from 11am.

Waves Community Art Group Starts back Monday 17th September at Cois Barry Community House from 10:30 to 12:00 – all welcome to attend.

Rosslare Historical Society are delighted to have launched their newest historical journal, Rosslare in History 6, edited by Gerry Breen. This journal is a great account of social history around Rosslare in years gone by. A great read and an invaluable addition to any book shelf. Books are on sale at Boggan’s Londis, Grange Road, Rosslare. €10 each.

Youth Club –Registration will take place for R.Y.C 2018/2019 on Friday 7th September @ 7pm - parents & members must attend. Registration forms need to be returned before members can attend RYC at Rosslare Community & Sports Centre. Registration Fee of €15 payable on the night, €2 per week thereafter. Start night for 1st years and new members ONLY on Friday 14th Sept, and full membership club will resume on Friday 21st Sept. We urgently need new male and female leaders for this year (over 18yrs); if you would like to be part of the club we would love to hear from you.
