What’s happening Rosslare Community & Sports Centre Membership 2019 – Rosslare Community & Sports Centre- EARLY BIRD offer An ideal Christmas gift for the whole family! Here at the Centre, our future development plans include refurbishment of the crazy golf course and the addition of CCTV to public areas and drainage to lower car park. We would like to thank the community for your ongoing support and look forward to improving the facilities we offer you in the coming year.

RCDA are delighted to announce that we have now secured funding towards the purchase of a much-needed tractor, which is essential for the transportation of our lawnmowers to various sites around Rosslare. We would like to express our gratitude to Councillor Ger Carthy who has donated €1500 towards our costs. Our thanks also to the Community Section at Wexford Council for its donation of €3000 and the Wexford Borough Council who contributed a further €1000.

Public Meeting Notice Calling all residents & visitors of Rosslare. The Rosslare Development Association is hosting a public meeting at 7.30pm Wednesday 21st Nov at Rosslare Community Centre. Gerry Forde from Wexford County Council will make a further presentation on the coastal erosion and flood prevention project presently being considered. Councillor Ger Carthy will also be in attendance. This is a great opportunity to voice your opinion as a resident or visitor of Rosslare on this subject or any other subject which may be of concern to you. There will also be discussions on traffic congestion, making safe the bridges and possibly introducing a one-way traffic system. The Rosslare Development Association look forward to seeing you all there.

Befriending Group We offer free and friendly companionship to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls. Our volunteers receive training and are Garda vetted. We compliment other services such as home help, home care etc., but DO NOT replace these services. Professional and self-referrals welcome. Keep Rosslare Litter Free Don’t give your dog a bad name! Please keep our village beautiful by picking up after your pet. Bags are provided at the car park and can be deposited in any council refuse bin round the village;‘any bin, any bag’.

Community Book Shelf We have a wide range of reading material available on our shelves; please call in, have a browse or grab a coffee,relax in our seating and avail of the FREE WIFI. We ask for a €1 donation; all money raised goes towards the Community of Rosslare. Donations always welcome.

Access – For – All Garden Don’t forget our garden is open for all to enjoy, and despite the dropping temperatures, our fabulous volunteers have maintained colour and interest. Wrap up warmly, and have a stroll around. New volunteers always welcome.

Office Admin Service Rosslare Community & Sports Centre can now provide a fully comprehensive office administration package to suit individual needs. In addition to internet access, print/scan/copy and laminating services, we now offer quality admin services to include CV production, fliers, reports, correspondence etc. All available at a highly competitive hourly rate. Percussion Classes and Beginner Guitar Lessons available from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. More Guitar lessons are available on Wednesday from 4.30pm for two sessions. German Language group meet every Wednesday from 11am.

Rosslare Historical Society are delighted to have launched their newest historical journal, Rosslare in History 6, edited by Gerry Breen. This journal is a great account of social history around Rosslare in years gone by. A great read and an invaluable addition to any book shelf. Books are on sale at Boggan’s Londis, Grange Road, Rosslare. €10 each.

Swing & Spin and Rosslare Kettle Club Now open in Rosslare!!!(at the former Watersports centre). Clara and Melonie are offering a wide range of spinning and fitness classes with attractive drop in rates and membership packages available. Rosslare Tidy Towns On Tuesday 6th November 4 Volunteers from Tidy Towns will attend the Presentation of the South East Region National Tidy Towns Awards Ceremony in Kilkenny. Included in the Awards will be the 1st in the County which is a great achievement and just recognition of our efforts over the past 20 years. On the 12th November we will be attending the Wexford County Council Environment Awards 2018, always a lovely occasion and an opportunity to chat with the other volunteers.

Meanwhile research continues on a number of new Projects for 2019, and we are reviewing and updating our 3 year plan which incorporates a number of interesting and ambitious initiatives for 2019. Tidy Towns is the leading National Platform for Volunteering and here in Rosslare, we will continue to welcome new Volunteers , we will continue with our open door policy, and we will continue with our efforts to bring further positive news and recognition to our Community.
