Welcome to the October 2022 Edition of Rosslare Newsletter The ice-cream machine has been mothballed for now, shorts and flip-flops replaced with school uniforms and carved pumpkins are putting in an appearance all over the village. So another Summer ends and the Autumn winds start to propel us all towards the end of the year. For the first time in three years, the Centre was able to host a complete Summer programme, with unrestricted indoor activities back on the calendar and the return of established tradition s. It really was a pleasure to have children swarming all over in no particular direction! The Teddy Bears could once again go down to the woods, the Bingo players could gather around a table, and Summerfest opened its gates to over 2000 visitors. We hope you’ve New 2 You had a chance to visit our recently-opened Rosslare Tea Room, serving Charity Boutique a wide range of coffees and treats. We welcome your support in this Open: Mon – Sat venture; all proceeds are re-invested in the community. Our much10:30am – 5pm frequented charity boutique has moved ‘uptown’ to the village centre, now sharing a space with a welcome new neighbour, the SurfShack Centre Opening Hours team who ran a hugely popular surf school this year. Another Monday to Friday successful initiative has been the establishment of Little Steps, a 9am – 9pm parent/toddler group who meet every Thursday to play, chat and form Saturday new friendships. Thanks to funding from Wexford County Childcare 9am -5pm Committee, a series of talks and outings are in place for the group. Our Sunday Social Evenings, which run twice monthly will continue through the Closed winter months (See back page). We are delighted to welcome the return of our regular groups and clubs; new additions include Office Admin Services Ernesto’s Spanish classes (kids and adults), and the Crafty Knitters’ ❖ Printing weekly get together.
