Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Information
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is committed to providing a safe and equitable learning environment for all students and employees. Sexual misconduct, including both sexual harassment and sexual violence, is a form of sexual discrimination prohibited by Rowan-Cabarrus and Title IX (Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972).
Sexual misconduct may include, but is not limited to, sexual non-verbal gestures or noises; sexual comments; sex/genderbased harassment; sexual exploitation; stalking; non-consensual sexual touching; relationship violence (domestic and dating violence); and/or sexual violence.
If you have experienced sexual misconduct or sexual discrimination, you should report or seek assistance as soon as possible. We recognize that deciding whether to make a report and choosing how to proceed are personal decisions that may evolve over time. At the time a report is made, you do not have to decide whether to request a particular course of action. Also, you do not need to be certain whether an incident is defined as sexual misconduct. Again, our goal is to provide a safe learning environment for all.
Rowan-Cabarrus encourages all individuals to promptly report sexual misconduct through any of the follow avenues:
Title IX Coordinator NatashaLipscomb...................... 704-216-3622
Deputy Title IX Coordinators Claudine Robinson ...................... 704-216-7292 Crystal Ryerson ........................... 704-216-3806

Rowan-Cabarrus prohibits any form of retaliation against the person filing a report or against anyone associated with the report. Any form of retaliation is considered a violation under Title IX and Campus Sexual Misconduct and Interpersonal Violence Procedure.
The Campus Code of Conduct and the Campus Sexual Misconduct and Interpersonal Violence Procedure apply to all students engaged in college activities either on-campus or off-campus. Please refer the college website (www.rccc.edu) to review.
Rowan-Cabarrus encourages all community members to assist in the reduction of sexual misconduct and relationships violence through exercising safe and creative intervention strategies rather than standing aside as passive bystander. Safe strategies include watching out for your friends and classmates; believing someone if they tell you that they have experienced sexual misconduct; reporting an incident you witness; and, if needed, calling 911 or campus security.

WORK-BASED LEARNING
Education + Work Experience = Successful Employment
Work-Based Learning is a unique academic program in which students integrate classroom learning with real world work experience. Students blend classroom theories into practice as they spend one or more semesters with a company or organization related to their program of study. Students who are already employed in their field of study or performing duties relevant to their field of study can also participate in Work-Based Learning to earn academic credit by using their own job as their internship.
Experience the Future
In Work-Based Learning, students will:
+ Receive academic credit
+ Gain career-related work experience
+ Explore career possibilities
+ Increase marketability after graduation
Pictured above: Faith Musenge, a Rowan-Cabarrus graduate, currently works as a scientist focused on immunology at the Research Triangle Park in Raleigh, N.C.
+ Use specialized facilities and state-of-the-art equipment on the job
+ Build an impressive resume and collection of references

An advisor can help you create an academic plan by helping you select appropriate courses and create a class schedule for fall, spring, or summer semesters. An advisor can help you achieve your academic goals.
Our mission is to promote student success by empowering students to take responsibility for achieving their educational and career goals.
