Rockford Regents compete in the NCAA Division III and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) in 14 men’s and women’s sports. More than 100 students from countries around the globe choose to study at RU. Through events, forums, and the annual International Food Festival hosted by the Multicultural Club, RU strives to educate about a variety of cultures and perspectives.

Now, how about community service? When alumna and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Jane Addams, founded the Hull-House in Chicago, she established a lasting legacy of service to the public. From traditional service work to community-based learning, RU students have plenty of opportunities to participate in meaningful experiences and create sustainable change.

Through RU’s Student Opportunity Fund, I traveled to Rome during an incredible short-term abroad trip. I saw and experienced what we had learned in the classroom, and it helped me appreciate a different culture. I also learned about myself and what it means to be a better citizen of our world.

I chose to play men’s basketball because it was clear that the coaches genuinely care about each of the players and want us to succeed both athletically and academically. My experiences as a studentathlete at Rockford University will stay with me forever.

I chose Rockford University because I wanted to go to a school where the professors could spend more one-onone time in the classroom helping students, and I wanted to be in a place that builds community.

I chose Rockford University because I felt that this would be the best opportunity for me to gain leadership skills, and get a great education.

The professors here help you understand everything that is taught in a small classroom setting. I felt that this was the best choice for me.
