POTE'S PONDERINGS

Brothers, Nobles all,

It has been a while since we have communicated through our Temple Topics. I will start with an apology, life has been very busy lately and though not a great excuse, it is just the reality. Summer is upon us and although we are used to going dark, this year I do encourage continuing to join us for our tasty Tuesday’s. I encourage as many Nobles, come and enjoy an evening of brotherhood. Let us all be aware that Tasty Tuesday is not just for Nobles it is for all brothers, friends and families that would like to come or you would like to bring. Parades season is coming up soon, please be aware that wives are very much welcome during our parades. We have had a couple lately the last one being for Memorial Day, several wives were on the sidelines, they are more than welcome to be in the parade with us, in fact it would be a great honor to have them in the parade. We do have the Legion of Honor trailer back up and running. Together, we must continue to move forward. The year is halfway done but we will continue to be busy on the second half.

TWe have a new website that will be up and running soon. Remember as I always say “it is not my year it is our year” let’s stay together, let’s keep moving forward and remember our purpose.

Yours in faith.

CHIEFRABBAN'S WORDS

Brethren, What a summer! We attended the Imperial Session in North Carolina and we did get a lot of good information that we will pass along to the members. We will be sharing a lot of that information at the Tasty Tuesdays along with some beautiful videos! It has been a very hot summer and we are looking forward for the cooling days of fall so we can do parades and more outdoors activities

News from Canada: Unique Opportunity for

Shriners and Ladies:

Rose Parade Float Decoration

Over the past several years, our dream of participating in the Rose Parade has been coming true. We have had the opportunity to become volunteer float decorators, and now we actually get to stand in the middle of all those wonderful flowers and help showcase Shriners Children's to the world.

We remember the first time we saw our float come to life. We had a hard time holding back the tears. It is now the one event that helps us stay connected and drives us to “take part” in the journey that we signed up for when we got involved with Shriners.

DearIllustriousSirs,NoblesandLadies,

As summer draws to a close, it is time to turn some of our thoughts to planning some fall and winter Shrine activities. For years, we have made it an annual tradition on New Year's Day to get up and watch the Rose Parade. For many people, likeus, thesightofalltheflowers and floats making their way through the streets of Pasadena against the blue sky andpalmtreesmaketheparadeabucket list item. Since Shriners Children's has been a parade participant, many of our Shrine families watch the parade in anticipationofgettingtoseeFezzy, along with our patient ambassadors and ImperialPotentate, proudlyrollingdown thestreet.

We would personally like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us in helping to bring our float to life at the 2024 Rose Parade.

If you have time to play amongst the flowers with us between December 26 and December 30, 2023, in Irwindale, California, please contact click on the "Sign Up to Volunteer" button. There are also "dry decorating" opportunities on the first four Saturdays of December. If you have any questions about our experience, you can contact us personally at tmellor@shaw.ca. We would love to tell you all about it!
