Printed Every Month 130th Anniversary
DECEMBER 2020
Gila Valley Lodge No. 9 were joined by El Zaribah Shrine, Ladies of the Oriental Shrine Sphinx Court No. 65 and the Memento Mori Widow Sons Motorcycle Club and participated in the 88th Annual Junior Parada Parade. Started by Gila Valley member Charles Whitlow to raise milk money for local elementary students, the Junior Parada Rodeo is the oldest Junior Rodeo in the Nation and the pride of Historic Florence, Arizona. The parade is one of the Saturday highlights of the Rodeo, and Gila Valley Lodge has been a proud participant for many years. The rodeo was altered this year to abide by COVID safety protocols with extra length and spacing provided by hail bales. Mayor Tara Walter announced all entries this year and awarded Gila Valley Lodge the Best Civic Entry. The Lodge was presented a very nice hair on hide folio made by local leather artists at Rail Three Ranch.
