Artist Statement This series explores the relationship between the growing body and the growing connection during pregnancy. I could not think of a more fitting theme for my show, as this is my life at the moment in this transitional period. I used India Ink, and Pencil on Watercolor paper for the basis of these drawings, and later photographed them as a starting point for my digital work done on Adobe Illustrator. By the time they are finished there are multiple different mediums getting them to the point of completion. As an Art Therapy Major I was interested in exploring body image as a topic, and when I found out that I was pregnant during the pandemic it was the perfect time for me to do that on my own. I was able to use the human body as the live model from my own growing body, and then dig deeper into the growth of myself and the connection between physical growth to the growing bond with my son.
