Artist Statement I decided to create fantasy landscapes for this project because I wanted to challenge myself to create something I’ve never really done before. I wanted to create a nonsensical world, one that contained elements that would be impossible to find in the real world. I wanted to immerse the viewer into this fantasy setting devoid of human life as a sort of temporary escape from reality. I wanted the viewer to make inferences on what they were seeing in my show as a whole. Yes, they are all stand alone pieces, but as a show, they collectively tell a story. A story of a world once inhabited by humans that have long since disappeared.
