We are pleased to introduce our award-winning Architectural Design, BIM, and Visualization firm based in Chesapeake, VA. We have a passion for what we do, supported by our consistent delivery of a quality product, and we strive to demonstrate this to our clients. Over the past few decades, RBA has become the leader in the Hampton Roads residential design arena, winning multiple awards for various projects. Utilizing a team of architects and designers, we offer an extensive range of professional services in different building types, including but not limited to; residential, commercial, multi-family, government, and religious buildings.

Tom is the founder of RBA. From a young boy, he knew that he wanted to be an Architect and design homes for his community. He encourages the team to be part of the community and leads by example by being on multiple local boards.
Jaclyn has been with RBA for 15 years. She has completed hundreds of residential projects and is consistently commended by our clients for her communication skillset. Her management skills are unparalleled
Daniel has been designing homes for over 16 years. His methodical approach to every project ensures we achieve our client’s vision. His keen eye for detail aids the team in producing the highest-quality drawings.

This shingle-style home, located in Southern Virginia, reflects the desire of the client to create a richly detailed yet modern take on the traditional shingle-style palette. Using cues from historic homes from the early 1900’s we developed the design using modern techniques and materials.

This river-bound home has the ultimate backyard oasis. A separate pool house bordering the pool creates an unparalleled entertaining area. The richly detailed gambrel entry is reminiscent of historic homes in our area. This modern coastal home was featured in COVA Magazine.

This modern “Little Home,” situated in the East Beach Neighbourhood of Norfolk, takes cues from the contemporary farmhouse style while creating exquisite outdoor living spaces. The design provides a sizeable living area in a small footprint. This home represents the ability to create small homes that live large.

This Home, situated on the Atlantic Ocean serves as a vacation home for an extended family. Designed to allow for 12 people to enjoy at one time, the home takes full advantage of being on the oceanfront.

Captivating Currituck
Location - Currituck, NC
Year - 2015 – 2016
Currituck boasts stunning landscapes along the Back Bay, offering panoramic views of magnificent sunrises throughout the year. The architecture of this residence was specifically crafted to capture these views from multiple areas within the home. Central to the home's design is a captivating waterfall feature, which not only serves as a visual centerpiece but also fills the living spaces with the serene sound of flowing water.

This modern home situated on the Chesapeake Bay reflects the modern California design style desired by the client. The design solution combines indoor and outdoor spaces to allow for resort-style living. Working within the city height requirements, RBA developed an overall concept that celebrates the true meaning of modern coastal living.

Renovated Inlet Residence

This older home was modernized and updated with multiple additions and renovations. The rear of the home reflects the resort nature desired by the clients. The raised infinity edge pool is visible from all areas of the home. Facing a tributary of the Elizabeth River, the design takes advantage of water views from all major parts of the home.

This infill cottage in the quaint town of Cape Charles, VA was designed to be reminiscent of costal style homes from the early 1900’s. The views from the front of the home overlook the Chesapeake Bay and provide for hours of watching nature at its finest

Both of these homes are under construction, currently in Cape Charles, VA. RBA uses a variety of rendering technology to represent our design to our clients.

This home faced numerous design challenges. The clients desired to have dual garages, but not have them be dominant. The final design separated the garages and create a focal point at the entry to the home.

Our client on this home, challenged us to design their future home in a style not seen in our area. The final design is modern in every way, yet taking cues from pacific northwest style prairie homes. With sweeping vistas of the river and a stately entry way, the home will be the place where the neighbourhood will gather.
