ACTIVATION PLAN FOR THE ECO-PARKLAND PROJECT
The Minister for State Development & Infrastructure have just released the Activation Plan for an Eco-Parkland project in Currumbin Valley The Plan, shaped by extensive community consultation and a comprehensive ecological study of the 148 Hectare site, promises new hiking & walking trails, picnic areas, and a wildlife rehabilitation center Notably, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will establish a koala fodder plantation and a smallscale vet unit on-site, with other areas earmarked for wetland restoration Supported by a $31 million investment over 3 years

The Palm Beach Aquatic and Community Centre has been under redevelopment for the past six months and was scheduled to open mid-year, but the council have now provided an update that will delay the opening to Spring.
“The Palm Beach Aquatic and Community Centre is now 76 per cent complete with the current focus on the internal fitout and upgrades to widen Thrower Drive,” Tim Baker City CEO said “Unfortunately, we have experienced a further delay and the centre will now reopen in Spring 2024.”
