The Australian residential property market remains steady, with house and unit prices both seeing a modest 0.4% rise this month, signaling stability amid slowing growth. Market performance, however, varies significantly by state and region, influenced by local economic factors. In the broader economy, August’s CPI of 2.7% aligns with the Reserve Bank's target range, prompting optimism for potential interest rate cuts next year. Over the past year, house prices have surged 8.3% nationally to an average of $900,122, while units have risen 6.4% to $669,708. Brisbane leads in annual house price growth, supported by strong demand from interstate migration and robust local conditions. For a detailed breakdown, scan the QR code adjacent.

Little Tommy's in currumbin has transformed into a mexican taqueria!
Get ready for a spicy shake-up! Little Tommy’s – the spirited younger sibling of Currumbin’s eternally popular Tommy’s Italian – has undergone a delicious transformation, turning into Tommy’s Taco Bar. Bringing a taste of Mexico to the Currumbin creekside, the first thing you should know is that Tommy’s Taco Bar is here for a good time, not a long time, although there is no specific date for its departure.
The motivation for Tommy’s Taco Bar was to offer price points that could appeal to a broad range of diners. “The idea was to provide an affordable menu while also enhancing the bar area,” Tom says. “With Italian, people usually come for wine and food, but it was time to mix it up with nice, cheap food that pairs well with good alcohol. Everyone loves a good margarita!”
