Maceo’s Story
A Papamoa Family’s Journey with RMHC
When six-year-old Maceo became critically unwell and was airlifted from home in Papamoa to Auckland for hospital treatment, his parents Adam and Candice faced every family’s worst fear. “We were shocked at how fast it happened,” Adam recalls.
Ronald McDonald House became their lifeline during his month-long recoveryespecially with their younger son Raife, who is non-verbal and needed stability “The House meant we could all be together,” Adam says. Staying over Christmas, they found unexpected comfort in the decorations, festive meal, and a special visit from Santa. Today, Maceo is happily back to running and playing. “RMHC gave us sanctuary and support when we needed it most,” Adam shares.
“Thank you Ray White for supporting this amazing group of people,” he says. “Ronald McDonald House gave us, and continues to give hundreds of families, a roof, support, and the space to focus on what matters most - your sick little person. We are eternally grateful.”
