PAYNE STUDENTS GET HIV/AIDS AWARENESS LEGISLATION PASSED AT THE 2016 GENERAL CONFERENCE Students who took CM243 HIV/AIDS: What Effective Clergy Should Know (Science-Based Perspectives on a Global Infection) taught by Dr. Oveta Fuller at the last spring intensive submitted legislation to the 50th General Conference held in Philadelphia, Pa.. The legislation passed overwhelmingly and will be a part of the 2016 Doctrine and Discipline of the AME Church. During the class, students watched content related videos, read several texts, shared with a NAACP National HIV/AID professional, create skits involving HIV/AIDS, and created sermons and prayers that promote HIV/AIDS awareness.
