TERRA COLLECTION
RAW MATERIALS AMSTERDAM X CHARLOTTE S. GAVET
The Terra collection designed by Charlotte S. Gavet, is made from terracotta and inspired by organic shapes. Charlotte comes from Paris, but nowadays lives in Bali.
The base material of terracotta is clay, which is a naturally occurring material from the area. Another name for terracotta is ‘baked earth’. The designer works closely with local craftsmen who make all the lamps by hand with their traditional skills.
The new Terra lighting collection compliments our other collection items made from natural materials.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Charlotte S. Gavet is born on May 11, 1969 in Paris. As she states: “it’s not a bad place to start life.
I was lucky enough to be raised in an artistic environment.” This allowed her to follow an atypical career that led her to open her first decoration shops in the 11th and later in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
Then life went on and brought her to the other side of the world: to Bali, Indonesia. Charlotte: “The fulfillment of my desires: to be able to design and to realize my version of it.” She shares her designs with Indonesian craftsmen, and together they build very strong connections. “For me, this is a very beautiful fulfillment to life.” Charlotte S.
