ORIGIN
Our story starts in 1998. After collecting unique interior objects on their frequent travels two brothers create Raw Materials. To this day this is still the foundation of our interior brand: finding and designing authentic and original interior collections that will last for generations to come. The rustic and natural elegance of objects is preserved over the years, often creating a patina that makes the pieces stand out. We embrace the rough imperfection of wood, metal and other raw materials.
CRAFTS
We love traditions, art, and craftsmanship. Our interior treasures bring a piece of heritage and natural beauty in every interior. For decades we have closely worked with local craftsman in India and Indonesia who make our collections with love for their arts & crafts. Together we design our items and hereby keep ancient traditions alive.
SUSTAINABLE
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do and create. We work with respect for nature and for the makers. Our collections are made with recycled and natural materials. We use FSC-certified wood or wood from sustainably managed plantations. As one of the few interior brands in Europe our company is FSC-certified. Almost all the waste in the production process is recycled, packing is done in recyclable carton.

Raw Materials has an extensive selection of unique vintage furniture & accessories. The appreciation for old traditions, fine arts, and wonderful carvings is what started this company and for years we are well-known for our unique interior treasures.
We love the rough beauty of the old cabinets, chests, and old doors because of the stories they tell. You can often see different layers of paint and the beautiful patina that has been created by years and years of intensive use.
All the items we find during our buying trips are kept as original as possible. We clean them, and do minimal repairs where needed, but the heritage of the object should remain visible and respected.
Our mission is to pass on our unique vintage pieces to new homes where their heritage hopefully will be admired for years to come.
We always have hundreds of old cabinets on stock in our warehouse. And many hundreds of other unique finds, from small decorations to objects with several meters height. On the following pages you can find some examples of our unique finds.

CONSCIOUS ABOUT WOOD
For our collections we love to work with recycled and natural materials. Many of the items we sell are made from wood, we therefore consciously consider the source of the wood we use. We work with recycled wood, FSC certified wood and/or wood from sustainably managed plantations. We can proudly say that Raw Materials is one of the few interior brands in Europe that is FSCcertified.
Some years ago we supported a young entrepreneur in India to start his own company, making furniture and decoration items with wood that is recycled from old houses & factories. Together we developed our collections: Factory, Elements, Scrapwood and Farmwood. Following, we assisted this production partner in obtaining FSCcertification, which guarantees that the whole process from sourcing of the wood to the final product is 100% FSC-recycled wood.
This year we also introduced new table collections from Indonesia that are FSC certified, raising the share of the FSC certified items to over 75% of our collections made from wood.
We’re serious about increasing our FSC-collections, but not all our partners are FSC certified yet. We support them where we can to help them go through the certification process.
In addition we work with recycled wood or wood that comes from sustainably managed plantations. For example, the teak and white cedar wood we use for Loft, Nova and Craftsman collections comes from plantations that are sustainable managed by the Indonesian government. These wood types do not grow in the primary forests, and its economical use brings no damage to tropical rainforests.
