Sheep Dog Trials

These trials are the oldest continuous Sheep Dog Trials in the old county of Westmorland SHEEP DOG TRIAL CLASSES TO BE ENTERED FOR ON THE FIELD

JUDGE: TBC

1. NOVICE CLASS now to be run on Show Day. Confined to a radius of 12 miles of Ravenstonedale Church. A Dog or Bitch having previously won a First, Second or Third Prize in an Open Class, to the time of entries closing are not eligible.

Prizes: A Silver Cup given by Mr E. Metcalfe to be competed for annually. 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £8, 4th £5 all prizes kindly given Lloyds Ltd, Penrith

A Silver Cup for best young handler (under 25 years) given by the Society to be competed for annually.

2. OPEN CLASS JUDGE: TBC Entry fee £5

Prizes: A Handsome Silver Cup to be competed for annually, returned to the show by Mr R. Handley in memory of his father, plus £50 given by Lloyds Ltd, Penrith. 2nd £35, 3rd £25, 4th £15, 5th £10, 6th £8, 7th £5, prizes all kindly given by NB UK (New Breed UK) 01524 542600

A Silver Cup (kindly donated by R. Young & Co. Ltd.) to be won three years in succession of five times in all for best young handler (under 25 years) to be competed for annually.

A Silver cup and £10 kindly donated by Mrs A Mason for the lady with the most points. The W.E. Dixon Memorial Challenge Cup (presented by his Family - to be held for one year) plus £10 given by the Society will be awarded to the Best Local Sheep Dog run before 2 p.m.
