Get ready for a new and exciting community look this Spring! Regatta owners will soon be voting on a new color palette for our buildings. The Architecture Committee recommendation, working with Commons, engineers and an architectural firm, is to replace the current orange and yellow Tuscan look with rich and enduring shades of greys and beige. The color change is one of many projects in the works designed to give our 20+ year-old community a fresh face. Painting is not just for aesthetics but necessary to maintain our building and protect our investments. Salt air, high humidity and relenting sunshine take its toll on our property. The painting project will include necessary inspections, waterproofing, caulking and building repairs. Samples of the color scheme are available to view in the property manager’s office. Look for more exciting changes in the future!

LANDSCAPING

Clerodendrum, Clusia, Copperleaf are just a few of the more than 50 species of trees, palms, shrubs and grasses you will find at Regatta. Walk the grounds and you’ll notice the changes: blooming orchids, magnificent bromeliads, colorful crotons and exotic pygmy palms.

Over the past three years, the Landscaping Committee has been working closely with Commons and our landscaping services company to update the “living” scenery across our property. The role of the committee is to provide recommendations and support the property manager and Commons Board for the landscaping needs of Regatta. Every year, the committee updates a large area around the property. 2020 changes featured the main pool transformation to a tropical theme with colorful bromeliads, exotic travelers palms, and lush orchid baskets. The committee has 4 goals: 1) Provide a long-term renewal plan for the grounds; 2) Develop annual plans; 3) Monitor plant and tree health in conjunction with the management and landscapers; and 4) Communicate progress to the Commons board and incorporate feedback into annual planning.
