A few words from the Editor: What a joy to publish again, to see the number of participants /members in 2015 (178) and the diversity of our nautical activities with no exclusions,each finding the pleasure in sharing, meeting wether the fisherman,the regatta participant,the afficionate of the classical yachts (Bateau de tradition),the wake boarder, the kite surfer,or those that just go out for a day or those that commit themselves to go on a cruise,...

A regret is not having found yet one or a group of persons ready to animate and bring to life this newsletter! But someone is up to it in translation for a double edition in english; thanks Claudia.

Amicale life: Activities all year long: It’s our second year without any interruptions as theyre has been a constant follow-up of our rendez- vous every Sunday and Monday on Musherika,the same in regards to the permanence every Wednesday afternoon at Cagnes sur mer and the practice of the sailing dinghy Fireball every Saturday at Cros de Cagnes.

This new activity was totally unexpected for our association ! Our Denis was contacted by the captain of the port of Cannes due to his nautical comittment in saving and rehabilitating the pointu,thus allowing one of the greatest Genovese / Cannes Carpenter to validate his professional competence and skills. A beautiful story! A very unique boat!

The boat is moored at the croisette in front of the town hall of Cannes, next to the Palais des Festivals ( Festival Palace).

The decision was taken to create a group to be in charge of this project.We began the legal procedures to register the pointu in the category of Heritage Preservation.

The place at the port was maintained. The boat was taken to the Nef at Cagnes and now it has been two months and a small team is in charge of renovating (One day per week).

Of course you can join in just contact us. The final objective will be to bring the pointu Lucien back to life and by so allowing it to navigate in all his glory in the bay of Cannes.

We are waiting for all candidates that wish to commit themselves to these outings, 2 days per week on a basis of a planning. The contribuitions will cover the costs of maintenance and guarantee the insurance and place at the port.

Organization of the Amicale Now they are several activities always based on the volunteer participation and wished for : The plaisance with Musherika outings,cruises, cabotage, happy hours, specific theme outings such as fishing, fire works,...

The dynamics of the sailing dinghy training : Outings every Saturday afternoon and the regattas The promotion of our pointu Lucien with it’s paddles and the project to equip it with Latin sails.

In regards to the rental activities of sailing or motor boats by the members of the Amicale a request needs to be done as Cimai and Taurleo have been sold and are no longer part of our fleet.

On Board of MUSHERIKA 3 Outings per week all year long: - Sundays from 10 to 15 hs - Sundays from 15 to 19hs Happy hour 19- 21.30hs - Mondays 20:30 to 23:00 hs Register by sms, email or facebook. Private outings under special request.

Cruises and prevision of Cabotage This year project : The intent is to book as soon as possible the availabilities on board for the july cruises. 4 Teams crew members of duration 6 days each.

Conditions : Register as soon as possible, closing of availability one week before 6 places available board cash.

( Food expenses or participation is definined by the crew + fuel +mooring if necessary.

The dates and routes are not fixed in contract allowing changes due to the weather conditions if necessary.)

As usual each crew member participates in all activities on board. Quarter watch, dishes, cleaning up, kitchen ....And respect the captain orders. The boat is insured but each crew member must have theyr own Accident Insurance and theyr passport with them. In case of sea sickness which happens frequently get from your doctor a prescription Scopoderme that can be found in any local farmacy.

A few echos in 2015! You just need to participate with very little previous knowledge or great intentions but need to know the basis of the Regatta, the sail adjustments, the maneuvers,...A different kind of conviviality...

The schedule and timing are longer than a simple outing !One night or more on board ! For the members that have registered to a yearly membership theyre are no fees for the daily regattas.

In order to participate the FFV License is mandatory( ask your skipper) as also a medical health certificate.

Back to 2015 AG, cruises, regattas, outings, events, motor navigation.

First a big thank you to all the members that participated at the general assembly of january 15th at our headquarters complying to the legal requirements and our regular activities.

On this occasion a memo the need of always having with you your member card up to date during our outings.

A sadness having seen our previous sailing boat Delphis abandoned by it’s current owner and taken out of the water by the authorities to be destroyed and literaly seeing bits and parts beeing stolen under our eyes.!

A happiness having seen so many people enjoying Musherika (The main boat of the Association) and seeing them come back regurlarly to the outings and cruises. Also mention the Ambience of our « Happy hours » every Sunday nights on board of Musherika with since the end of october the regular presence of musicians on board .

Happiness of the adhesion to the programmed cruises or requested,to live dreams and to be able to free oneselves cruising all year long.! (5 x Cinque Terre), Cap Corsica, Capraïa, Elbas, west Corsica, Lavezzi, and the cabotages of west Ligury …Great navigation concept, cool and touristic.

The joys of beeing challenged in the regattas mainly with the sailing dinghy Fireball counting with the renewall of the presence of teens and the adepts of the wood tradition. ..

Surprise in recieving this pointu coming from the Genovese Carpenter tradition .

Today we call on the greatest number of people to come and join and form a great team to bring to life ,manifest and value this true patrimony of the Côte d’Azur and it’s authenticity.

3 points of departure on the côte : Villefranche for the sailing , Cagnes sur mer for the sailing dinghys, the permanence, the motor boats rentals see on the links with the partners in formation and motor school boats, Cannes for the Pointu.

And the motor navigation not very active during this last year !

Carenage Prevision of Musherika According to the calendar it will be during the week of the 7th till 11 March A Big thank you to all the volunteers and remembering that last year it was a total of 15 participants !

Mainly under water (sous-marine), polish, sealing the portholes, changing the heater, taking out the water heater and putting it back and other small things….. To maintain and improove our boat.

I remember dearly of last year and wish to renew again our super noon brakes and the evenings were each of us shared our drinks and snacks,our projects of navigation, dreams of anchoring,gite and speed,...The beautiful spirit of Team work. .. «The Musherika crew» causing envy among the pro of the shipyard. It is on the program in the evening to have a collective party and rejoice on the good work done .

Useful reminders : Prevention I remind each of you even though the Insurance is not mandatory for the boats the minimum consist of a RC that the people on board benefit partly not forgetting to mention the renflouage asked by the ports Also you need to have na individual insurance that is included in the french tax of habitation. Also bring on board your ID. It’s the preparation of our small Yachts!

I came up with this idea: all year long i will present small videos on the following theme «How to well prepare your cruise and your boat ». These short videos will be axed on different themes such as the weather forecast for a serene cruising either sailing or by motor boat using the computer tools but also giving different advice such as using high debit internet on board,electricity on board ,how to anchor and many other tips will be given.
