To receive the resident rate you must reside within the cities of Rochester or Rochester Hills. RARA is funded through a millage collected in the city of Rochester Hills and a comparable fee in the city of Rochester. Please see the map below, where the orange area is considered “resident” for RARA’s purposes. Residency is not connected with the Rochester School District. Residency is determined by where you pay your city taxes. Non Residents pay an additional 20%, capped at $20 per program in addition to the resident rate.
Cancellation of Activities RARA activities at community schools are cancelled when school activities are cancelled. Activities at 480E & 500E 2nd St along with other offsite locations will continue as scheduled unless otherwise posted. In addition, cancellation of programs will be deter mined by program supervisors as seen fit. Dodgeball leagues Dodgeball isn’t just for gym class... get your friends together and play! This coed youth dodgeball 6v6 league is athletes looking for a fun, exciting summer activity. The K-1 league is coed and plays on 8 foot basketball hoops which allows for higher scoring games. Balance and Fall Prevention Exercise Workshop presented by Karen Milam. If you have fallen over the last year or have a fear of falling, this balance workshop is for you. Over the course of 4 days you will build your confidence and strength. The workshop will start with an evaluation of your balance, then you will learn how to set realistic goals to improve your balance. You will learn functional strength exercises (no equipment) that will help strengthen your legs, stomach, and back muscles, as well as easy stretches that will leave you feeling loose. All of the exercises are safe, effective, and functional. Men and women of all fitness levels are welcome. Please wear supportive athletic shoes.
