Registration Periods • January - April Registration Begins December 1 • May - August Registration Begins April 1 • September - December Registration Begins August 1 **Some programs do not follow the general registration period timeline. Dates will be posted for the special registration periods in each program guide. Refunds All programs cancelled by RARA will be refunded in full. Participants requesting a refund must submit a refund request in writing at the RARA Offices, 500 E Second Street. Refunds paid in cash or check will be charged a minimum $5.00 processing fee. Credit card convenience fee is nonrefundable. Refund amounts will be determined on an individual program basis and requestors will be notified if additional fees are assessed.

Mission Statement Our Mission is to provide an extensive and varied recreational program, enhancing personal enrichment, and providing for the community’s leisure needs. The activities and services shall include, but not be limited to: recreational and enrichment activities for all ages, youth and adult sports programs (non competivitive and competitive), and activities for special populations. Resident/Non-Resident To receive the resident rate you must reside within the cities of Rochester or Rochester Hills. RARA is funded through a millage collected in the city of Rochester Hills and a comparable fee in the city of Rochester. Residency is not connected with the Rochester School District. Residency is determined by where you pay your city taxes. The current non-resident fee is $20 per program for children and $28 per program for adults. NonResident fees are not charged for Special Events and Team registrations. Notice to Participants Participants must recognize that all classes/ activities of a physical nature involve some risk, and by registering for a class/activity of this nature there is an assumption of risk by the participants. RARA is dedicated to providing safe equipment as well as qualified staff for all participants. In the event of a serious accident or illness, it is the policy of RARA to: 1. Contact emergency medical services to perform first aid, and when necessary, recommend transport of the victim to the hospital. 2. Reach the parent/guardian/emergency contact as soon as the situation allows. Cancellation of Activities All RARA activities are cancelled when the Rochester Community Schools are closed due to inclement weather. In addition, cancellation of programs will be determined by program supervisors as seen fit. Cancellations will be posted on the www.rararecreation.org home page, RARArecreation Facebook & Twitter, and for some programs, registered participants will be notified via email.
The RARA Board is a policy making board comprised of 7 members, representing the governmental agencies that established our interlocal agreement, and individuals from each of the communities in which we serve. The board meets on the second Wednesday of each month, 5:00PM at the RARA offices, 500 E Second St. Rochester, MI 48307. Meeting/ agenda minutes are available on our website at www.rararecreation.org and updated monthly.

Pee Wee - Intro to tennis, emphasis is on fun and hand/eye coordination. Foam balls and mini nets.
Orange Ball - A continuation of Red Ball, players work to refine strokes. Low compression orange balls are used. Green Dot Ball - Players are beginning to rally the ball successfully. Green dot balls are used, transitioning into regulation balls. Teen Beginner - A class designed especially for teens and pre-teens who are new to the game of tennis. Jr. Excellence - Players with experience who are striving for tennis excellence and increased match play. Tournament Training - Aspiring tournament and team players. Match Play with on-court coaching. High School/Middle School Training Camp - For players in high school, or entering high school, that aspire to play JV or Varsity tennis. Adult Beginner - Adults 17+ who have never played tennis, or have been away from the sport for a long time. Adult Advanced Beginner - Adults 17+ / NTRP 2.5-3.0 players who would like to refine their strokes and play out points in a structured class setting. FATHER’S DAY IN THE PARK Kids (Ages 3yrs and up) - sign up to bring your Dad/Grandpa to the Municipal Park to celebrate Father’s Day. Work together on this fun scavenger hunt with several exciting challenges at the park. Each dad/kid team that completes the hunt will earn a prize. Tons of Trucks Kids Day in the Park
We had over 4000 participants at this free event in 2015, so we decided to make it even better! ToT is a free event where spectators have a chance to check out all of the city service vehicles and meet the great staff operating these vehicles. Police , Fire, and rescue; construction and maintenance; along with many other vehicles. Check out the Oakland County Sherriff’s Department helicopter as they drop in during a patrol, landing on the softball fields. We will have food trucks, vendors, obstacle course, slides, and bounce houses from Oakland County Parks for the kids to burn off their energy. Plus all of the fun booths from Kids Day in the Park at this combined event in 2017. Our best yet! Parents—don’t forget your cameras! Location: Borden Park, Hamlin & John R Fee: Free Event! FREE

41st Annual Greater Rochester Open Tennis Tournament The GRO July 26– August 2, is a community tennis tournament for players of all skills and ages. We have divisions for every age group and multiple doubles formats for players to enjoy some friendly competition. Awards for 1st place and runner up in each division. ROCHESTER RALLY- FAMILY EDITION This an activity that you can enjoy with your entire family. This rally is designed with fun kid oriented tasks and activities. Recommended for families with children ages 5 years and up. You and your family will “race” around town and complete fun tasks and try to get the most points. Get out and about in the summertime in the beautiful downtown Rochester area and create lasting memories with your family. Please register in small groups with at least one adult per group. ROCHESTER RALLY-ADULT EDITION Ready, set, go….for a fun evening out with friends! Get team members together that like to crack, unravel, decipher and unscramble! Sign up your 3-4 person teams. We will kick off this Rally at the Rochester Municipal Park where you will get your rules and clues. From there you will be on your way to competing against other teams for the Grand Prize! A portion of this fun and challenging night will be on foot in downtown Rochester. The evening will end at a local area restaurant, but you will figure all that out! Participants will learn skills involved in caring for infants, toddlers, and young children. Starting your own business, emergency procedures, taming the Tots, when a stranger knocks, diapering, feeding, and sleep time will be topics covered. CPR and some basic first aid techniques are also included in the course. Participants ages 11 through 15 qualify for a 2-year Babysitter Safety certification card upon successful completion of required skills. Students will participate in American Heart’s “Friends and Family” CPR program. This is a CPR awareness course. Students receive a course completion card. Students more than 15 minutes late will not be permitted into the class, please be on time. Taught by experienced Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, and other qualified professionals, these instructors will give your child the skills to be a confident and prepared babysitter. The Rochester College Shakespeare Camp is a great opportunity for young actors to learn and grow in a fun environment! Activities include improv games, theatre exercises, and the chance to put on an actual Shakespearean production for friends and family at the end of camp. Camp will be held on the campus of Rochester College. Our counselors are trained in theatre and are ready to teach campers by working and playing alongside them. RARA provides golf leagues at Myth Golf Course and Pine Trace Golf Club. All golf leagues include green fees, cart or bag carrier, and a end of the season dinner at the course. The earliest tee time will be 5:30 pm. There will be no golf on the week of July 4th. The ladies league will be 14 weeks long. Tell us the dates and options that you are you are interested in and we will check for party host and facility availability. Parties are rented in 2 or 3 hours options. Bring in your own decorations and refreshments. You can utilize many of the convenient local restaurants or bring in family favorites from home. You will receive the facility area you choose and a party space where you can serve food and open presents. You will be assigned a party host to assist you with decoration, review of your party plan with your guests, assist with serving refreshments and clean-up. General RARA Camp Information
SCHOOL BREAK
All camps have latchkey except where noted. Latchkey takes place at the location listed in the description. Children picked up late from latchkey will be charged a $1 per minute late fee. This fee is paid directly to staff on the day of pick up.
CAMPS
We have a Medical Form on our website that you need to download, (rararecreation.org) fill out and turned in BEFORE YOUR CHILD CAN COME TO CAMP. If you are registering at the RARA office, please bring your Medical Information, Insurance Information, Emergency Contact Information, Date of last Tetanus Shot, Child’s Doctor Name, address, and phone number. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt the morning of their field trip. A weekly detailed schedule will be given to parents on Monday mornings. Campers need to bring a non-perishable lunch. The lunch needs to have your campers name on it. You can also check out the RARA Website for up-to-date camp information. All Campers, please pack your child with a bathing suit, towel, water bottle, and sunscreen daily! You are required to sign your child in and out each day. Teen Campers who are riding or walking must have on file a permission form from RARA, signed by the parent.
Camp Refund Policy •
All Camps cancelled by RARA are refunded in full.

Refund policy for the camps listed above are as follows:

When RARA is notified at least two weeks before the start of camp, if paid by check or cash, a full refund, less a $5 processing fee will be issued.
•
When given less than two weeks notice, but before the first day of camp, there will be a 75% refund issued.
•
When notified after camp begins, but before the second day, there will be a 50% refund issued.
•
There are no refunds issued the second day of camp.
•
When a credit card is used for transactions, refunds will be credited back to that credit card.
Latchkey LATCHKEY MUST BE PAID AT THE RARA OFFICE. Counselors do not have the ability to take your payment nor are they allowed to take payment at the latchkey drop off and pick up locations. Before and after care is available for Camp Moose Tracks, Camp Caribou, Teen Camp, Travel Camps, Specialty Camps, & Sport Camp. Before and after care is available from 7am until camp starts and after camp ends until 6pm. Latchkey is counselor supervised. This is held in a non structured atmosphere. Payment system: The cost is $4.00 per hour which is charged in 15 minute increments. Your child’s latchkey totals will be tallied by camp staff then billed to you at the end of each week. Your bill can then be paid with Visa, MC, Discover or American Express. You can also pay at the RARA office in with the same methods, with cash or check. If the bill is not paid by the due date then you will be charged a late fee and your account will be frozen until the bill is paid.
Please keep your Latch key account current in order for your child to attend camps.
Summer July 4th Week Camp
Campers will spend the week traveling around on different fieldtrips! This camp meets at RARA. It is the only Day Camp running this week. Latchkey is available 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 6:00 p.m. Latchkey is $4.00 per hour, per child. Please specify if latchkey will be needed. Spots for camp are limited! Participants must be in at least first grade. Participants need to bring a sack lunch every day. A detailed schedule will be mailed the week before camp starts. Location: RARA Recreation Complex. July 5th thru 7th Fee: $110
SUMMER DAYS FOR LIL’ EXPLORERS!
Little ones delight in learning new things! Register your child along with a caring adult for this fun-filled opportunity. Themes that may be explored include: the beach, fascinating world of bugs, fun with food, super science, motion in the ocean and more! Enriching activities such as related stories, finger plays, introduction to games and sports, music and movement, colorful parachute play and yoga will fill the day! A daily project and snack will be part of the fun. Let Miss Mary’s expertise guide you, your little one and all your new friends through this great summer adventure! Sports Adventure Camp This fun-filled sports camp is filled with a variety of sports. Each day will be filled with different sports. RARA offers a variety of sports and
recreation opportunities during open play hours. Our facility is not reservable from 4pm - 7pm weekdays and 10am - 3pm on weekends, giving the community a great opportunity to come out and play. If you have a group of friends that want to play or you are looking to join in with an existing group, check out our website for specific times and age groups. As regular participants begin to play here at 480E we will post the activities that are set up during open play on social media so you will know when the sports you are interested in are active. RARA has two middle school size basketball courts with adjustable 8’ - 10’ rims. Stop in for a pick up game during open hours or schedule ahead with a group to reserve your court.
Open Inline Hockey
The rink at 480E offers a great opportunity for fast paced hockey. The infiniti series glass dasher boards and bench system give our rink unique, fun, recreational play. If you would like hockey set up, call in advance to open play hours and we can accommodate your request. M-F

They say getting in shape is hard work, a strict routine, and tireless hours of weights and cardio. We are reinventing that thought, bringing back the playground, adding apps that make exercise fun, interactive, social, and an endless world of imaginable possibilities!
The Queenax Open Format X2 700 offers 18 unique functional & suspended body weight training stations plus space for small group fitness classes up to 8 people.
Group Fitness
Our group fitness schedule is based on 6 class groups: Fusion, Definitions, Stomp, Vibe, Kinetics, and TKO. General group descriptions are listed below. Each group offers 7 - 12 different 20 minute classes plus additional classes that are longer. Try out one of our scheduled classes at set times, try it on your own, or with a group and pick your own class. There are 35 different instructors, 15 different class groups, workout programs, fit tests, and 200+ classes to choose from. Most equipment is provided. Bring your own yoga matt. REGULATIONS AND POLICIES: 1. Reservation will not be confirmed until a rental application is complete and full payment is received. 2. Deposit: Renters credit card will be kept on file for any damages that occur during the rental. 3. Any defects in the room must be identified and brought to the attention of RARA prior to the rental. 4. Rental reservation must include all time for prep and cleanup. Renters will be charged for any additional time they did not reserve. 5. Team/Organizational Rental: Proof of liability insurance in the form of a Certificate of Insurance listing RARA as additionally insured must be provided in the minimum amount of $1,000,000. If food or alcohol are being served a proper permit is required with the application. 6. Facility personnel may be required for certain uses or activities as determined by the facility supervisor. If this is required, you’ll be notified of any fees that may/will be charged to you. 7. The renter will be billed for damages, losses and unsatisfactory cleanup fees in excess of the deposit on their registered credit card. 8. The rental supervisor reserves the right to monitor, intervene or terminate the event at any time. 9. RARA or its representatives are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property. 10.
