Because of your generous and faithful support, Rapha International will celebrate twenty years of serving young survivors of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and abuse by providing opportunities to experience healing, hope, and freedom! Together we have been on the forefront of serving vulnerable and victimized children. We have had the privilege of serving thousands of children through survivor care and prevention programming internationally in Cambodia, Thailand, and Haiti.
Now, with your continued faithful support, Rapha is beginning an exciting new chapter as we step into the next twenty years of serving vulnerable children, their families, and communities. As we continue to expand international programming in order to serve more children than ever before, we invite you to join us in a fantastic opportunity to serve survivors in the United States. Having identified trauma therapy resources as a major gap in services for U.S. survivors, Rapha International has been piloting The Hope and Healing Center at our headquarters in Joplin, Missouri for the past two years. The impact has been incredible, and already, hundreds of survivors have begun their journeys toward healing from the devastating effects of trauma. Due to the success of this program and our desire to serve exponentially more U.S. trauma survivors, Rapha is launching a campaign to purchase a 10,000 square foot building in Joplin, Missouri to house Rapha’s Hope and Healing Center. There we will be able to continue to pilot this critical model for other regions of the country and significantly scale our capacity to serve and train. This new facility will also expand Rapha’s International headquarters, providing space for exciting growth on our leadership team- equipping and supporting Rapha’s work with young survivors internationally. Our goal is to raise $1,200,000 to purchase this property and complete renovations to tailor the facility to Rapha’s unique programming needs. As always, we are dependent on our faithful supporters to make this goal a reality. YEARS
The Hope and Healing Center’s mission is to provide trauma-focused therapy for child, teen, and adult survivors of a variety of traumas, including human trafficking, violence, and sexual abuse, in order to promote lifelong hope and healing. The Center in Joplin will continue to serve as a cutting-edge pilot program, with the vision to extend into other regions of the United States and fill the gap of traumafocused services for survivors of abuse and exploitation. Licensed mental health providers at the Hope and Healing Center offer a variety of evidence based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Play Therapy. The new facility will be tailored to accommodate art and movement therapy, and provide confidential and comfortable spaces for all therapy models. The impact of the Hope and Healing Center will extend far beyond its regional location. A new training facility at the Hope and Healing Center will allow Rapha staff and partner organizations to train law enforcement officers, church leaders, and other community groups on responding to domestic human trafficking, exploitation, and child abuse. Rapha’s Survivor Care staff will conduct training for therapists from around the country on trauma-informed models of intervention. This space represents an opportunity for Rapha to reach thousands of survivors in the United States with healing and hope for the future.
Rapha Expansion Partners who contribute to this project will have their names displayed in a beautiful and permanent installation at the new building- commemorating their dedication to Rapha’s work and their vision for Rapha’s future. Rapha Expansion Partners can expect regular updates on the exciting process being made at the new facility, and an invitation to the dedication ceremony.

Bree and Jessica were referred to Rapha International’s Hope and Healing Center for trauma therapy treatment. Bree was too afraid to talk about what had happened, but art and play therapy helped her open up to her therapist about the abuse. Jessica was able to engage in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and process her trauma through this evidence-based model.
Bree and Jessica needed professional and compassionate treatment to heal and to regain hope for a safe and happy future. Bree and Jessica now live with their mother full time. Jessica plays basketball on a community team and Bree loves to dance. WIth the support of their mother and their therapist at the Hope and Healing Center, the girls bravely told their story in court, and their father was sentenced to prison for his crimes. They are healing, day by day, and discovering life outside the bounds of abuse and exploitation.

The Hope and Healing Center is just the beginning of Rapha’s vision for serving people in the United States who have experienced exploitation and trauma. This expansion is the first step toward developing those services for other communities. Two sisters, Bree (age 5) and Jessica* (age 7), were involved in an investigation when their school reported their father for neglect. As the investigation continued, it was discovered that the girls’ father was exploiting them to pay his drug debts- trafficking them for sex.
