This document is a remarkable first-hand account of the eruption of Mount Pelee from 1901 to 1902 authored by Louis Souquet-Basiège (1859-1905) an attorney and resident of the town of Saint-Pierre, Martinique at the time, husband of Nathalie Asselin (1865-1927) of Martinique.
