Rania Pantzi | RMK

Hello! I’m Rania, a self-taught artist from Greece. This portfolio includes a few samples of my art, both personal and professional projects. I’m always eager to evolve, learn new art media, and feed my creativity with new ideas. While simultaneously working as an architect, it’s not easy to find free time to create. However, my goal is to never stop creating. So, I’ve made this portfolio to pursue my love for art and drawing, gain extra motivation to add new projects to it, and hopefully, meet other creatives to exchange ideas and collaborate. Enjoy!

“The girl and the cupcake’’, 2020, commissioned media: graphite pencil and coloured pencils

“The Nymph’’, 2021 media: graphite pencil and black pen

This drawing began entirely by chance, one afternoon at a friend’s house, using a pen, a pencil, and a piece of paper I found on their desk. Specifically, I started with the intention of practicing a pen sketch technique..but, yes.. Suddenly, a nymph and her companion appeared on the paper.

“Karl at work’’, 2017 media: graphite pencil and coloured pencils

This drawing was my entry for a Faber Castell competition themed “Karl at Work,” referencing Karl Lagerfeld. The cat on the tie (Karl’s cat, Choupette) is one of the elements I liked the most both during the conceptualization and the execution of the piece.

“The girl and the monkey’’, 2017 media: graphite pencil (edited in blue hue in Photoshop)

Drawing with reference and some variations. Based on a beautiful photograph of a little girl and her pet tamarin by a river in Peru (photo by Hamilton James). The tamarin, for obvious reasons, was perched on her head.

“Undone’’, 2019 media: graphite pencil

Its intentional “undone” state is a deliberate choice, as I felt it conveyed a completeness already, with visual gaps carrying a depth of information, history, and personal thoughts.

“Pa-ran(o)ia’’, 2022 media: graphite pencil

Pencil sketch practice on expressions, created during my covid quarantine.

“Girl

“I

media: graphite pencil and digital collage

Selfportrait. Inspired by summer and pleasant emotions.

am blue, da ba dee’’, 2017

“Mind Mischief’’, 2017

media: graphite pencil and digital collage

The inspiration came from the eponymous song by Tame Impala, and it revolves around the themes of love and the unraveling of a young boy’s emotions.

“Blue Screen’’, 2017 media: graphite pencil and digital collage

The composition revolves around the “lullaby” of a gamer by his computer. After countless hours of gaming, his conscience tells him it’s time to shut down the screen. Nevertheless, he ignores the need for rest and food, as he is now nourished by his addiction to the game. Thus, his brain, frustrated and disappointed with the turn of events, decides to abandon him and embark on a solo braintrip.

“Outlander’’, 2020 media: acrylic paint on canvas 50x70cm (unvarnished)

“Fisheye’’, 2017 media: graphite pencil

This drawing is inspired by a Spanish artist (albaricoque_acg), combined with a study of a very close-up photograph of a human eye.

Children’s book illustration, 2021 media : graphite pencil

Hikers T-shirt and poster design, 2023, commissioned media: Adobe Photoshop

Hikers is a company that organizes guided hiking trips, day hikes, mountain experiences, and rock climbing sessions.

“Gods of Olympus and sports”, 2020 media: Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator

1st prize winner in an Illustration contest for a balance board design curated by “The Thing about Greece’’ company.
