R-MA Wrestlers Earn Honors

Every year, the National Wrestling Coaches Association and the United States Marine Corps recognize and award wrestlers who have achieved success on the mat, in the classroom, and in their communities. Athletes selected to receive this honor must demonstrate dependability, judgement, endurance, initiative, tact, integrity, unselfishness, and courage.

This year, they bestowed Character & Leadership All-American Awards on four R-MA students: Godfrey Delaney ‘22, Zach Rosen ‘22, Henry Scott ‘23, and Shawn Starling ‘23.

The R-MA Wrestling team also celebrated success at the Virginia Wrestling State Tournament, finishing third in the medium-size school division and 11th overall. Several team members also earned state medals, including Henry Scott ‘23 (2nd Place, 182 lb. weight class), Zach Rosen ‘22 (5th Place, 152 lb. weight class), Sean Loeber ‘22 (6th Place, 285 lb. weight class), Luke Bitter ‘24 (6th Place, 195 lb. weight class), and Owen Werner ‘28 (8th Place, 113 lb weight class).
