No matter how you cut it, this will kill the Canadian Economy and Destroy a Sector - whether you want to or NOT. Read the article published in establishing a case for Uber (www, https://www.boardoftrade.com/files/pdf/ridesharing-paper-2016.pdf, VBOT 2016). If you haven't then read why this is the worst thing for transportation business & the economy - perhaps one of the worst, EVER. It's a Competition hell whole which will eventually turn into a Taxi business again anyway but killed jobs before it got there. Any competition in this arena would only saturate it NOT bring forward Newer, Better business. It is limited in it's ability to do that - here's why.

Road congestion and crowded public transit is putting pressure on our region’s infrastructure and draining our economy of its productivity and overall effectiveness.” a) “In Metro Vancouver alone, the direct cost of congestion is approximately $1.4 billion per year.1 Therefore, exploring new options for the safe and efficient movement of people is necessary to the growth and development of our economy and the success of our businesses.”

Then don't read the article if you are looking for useful information - it's proves why education in business can be useless. It was written by someone with the education & experience…

Third… ... comes to show, this ride-sharing idea is: A. A Fad B. “Smoke'n Mirrors”

From the article's opening lines, what can we interpret: The first 2 sentences in the paper above suggests that having more taxis, driver services such has shuttles and train systems as well as rapid transit in the future are not possible?

The first sentence in this paper is suggesting that before Uber, everything was fine but now it is not Uber and ride sharing or as the author puts is "innovative passenger transportation options" are what is needed here.

Question is: Didn't use that theory to help the already working systems in place now did you?

This first 2 sentences in this paper suggests that the current infrastructure is "draining our economy of it's productivity" when really what they are suggesting is killing an entire sector which reduces that very problem by limiting the systems in place which are ready to meet demand to aid in growing our economy.

Later in the paper, this paper suggests we should get Uber services or such ride sharing services like Uber because other places are doing this.

That proof they try to validate there is a clear indication that this group of self proclaimed geniuses can't think for themselves so as "Herds" do - they just follow the dumb ideas of similar "Herds" which are the most popular and fail miserably in a group like fashion, as "Herds" do.The paper suggests many things but only a hell whole of retards would suggest this would not be killing an entire sector and its employees with a system which would eventually end up being a less structured taxi service anyway!

Worse, kill the sector entirely.

Times like this, I wish the Board of Trade - Directors of the Board, would start firing people - starting at the Top - working their way down in the leadership arena because only a business illiterate would write a paper to a kill a free standing, operating, sector of business and its human capital.

If more Taxis are needed along with Shuttle Drivers and private with public transportation services are needed - they have the hardware, they have the human capital, ready to meet those needs & with the demand / need they will have consumers which will bring in the revenue. Uber and ride-sharing is what lead to the Taxi idea to begin with.

It's that simple - so now, we're going to go backwards and reinvent the wheel because they were too slow to get and now are jealous and bitter - it's the dumbest idea ever!

Why not build something which works with the current system instead of obliterating it for one which slows down business, reduces capital, saturates it anytime new businesses of it's kind enter the arena while killing jobs for a less human capital driven system which would end up as a taxi service anyway?

Uber is a great idea BUT like Communism, it's does not help the economy.

In fact… … it kills free standing and standardized, working infrastructure.

The current systems in the sector do the same job, leaves room for technology and innovation while it continues to employ multiples lines of work with people who pay income tax and sales tax which helps the Canadian economy.

In fact, all Uber does is it prepare itself to eventually become a taxi service - once regulated and insured, who's going to cover that over head? Exactly, you're back at Square 1 and now a Taxi is called an Uber!

UBER AND THE TAXI CAB INDUSTRY TRUTH Unfortunately, the Vancouver Board of Trade has been, it seems. to have been taken over by retards with political motives perhaps - along with what appears as, a bunch of rich young people with their followers who have had little or no trouble getting jobs or being in businesses because of their "herd" membership not because they could start from zero and be where they are - ever. This is a serious problem when they voice their opinions on business because they just agree with each other (like Herds do) then, mind you, even award each other to feed their delusional heads. This is the mind set of the kind of person who would support this idea to have Uber as a free-standing ride share which comes in the forms of private drivers and taxi's.

This idea is so bad that only Iain Black CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade, a career Politician in my opinion, could be at the head of this disaster by finding a way to make it work for the attention and following he might be looking to gain.

I always think Iain just works a job for political interest and gaining a following for a return to politics - it's not like he was winning business awards and doing TEDx talks while in business now was he?

Here's why Uber is so bad (without mentioning safety) a) You will have killed, MANY businesses, which employ thousands of people to do this job b) Based on the Statement above, #1, If you kill businesses and jobs, you destroy the economy c) It's so bad that only a Communist who's the leader of a free enterprise Board of Trade would be pushing for this business with which competition, could never have a competitive advantage big enough to bring on competition, of worthy cause - ever! d) Based on the statement above, #3, when you remove professional, tested, standardized and qualified, well insured drivers for amateurs who don't cover the liability of the ride, you will have killed a model which protects the business as well as the consumer. This what you had before Taxi's and driver services! e) Based on the statement above, #3, With overhead costs this, would have re-Birthed the Taxi, ONLY Now, It Would Be Called the "Uber"! f) Only an Anti-Free-Enterprise individual would enjoy Establishing a NEW business by Killing ones which Already Do that Job for one which saturates and destroys a sector. g) Only an Anti-Free-Enterprise individual would enjoy Taking Away Options / reverse diversity to feed a "Fad" by instilling one which would eventually end up being the system they destroyed h) Taxi's & other driver services offer Consumer Options which already include a single driver or private driver i) Taxi's like other driver services allow for Competitive Advantages and Competitive Strategy to allow the economy to diversify - Ride-Sharing does the exact opposite. j) The minute you go Uber or ride-sharing you take away from those consumer options which will kill the economy and lead to back to the diversity the sector has today k) When you include Uber or ride-sharing as a regulated service you get a Taxi anyway, You'll be back at Square One!

This idea is so BAD that it only comes second to Canadian real estate being sold to the Chinese in China before Canadians can get a chance at it m) Lastly, it kills Canadian Consumer Power and Investor Power like the Real Estate Boards and government in British Columbia have already done - which caused the price of goods, even goods outside of real estate, to rise to levels where the cost of living was more as a place to live by squeezing out the worker at the bottom

This was the mistake when they CEO'd the Vancouver Board of Trade with a career politician who does TEDx talks while collecting business awards and accolades for PR moves while being a judge on who the top business people are in childish competitions where the kids with the most accolades usually come with a linage of wealth anyhow.

Before I forget to ask...

If the taxis were run and owned by mostly white people who wore suits and ties while being rich, this would be different don't you think?

If you said "No" to the Question above, either you're a monetary racist or just lied to yourself about not being one AND That Ladies and Gentlemen… … is WHY I WOULD NEVER JOIN A "HERD" OF DUMMIES WHO RUN A BOARD OF TRADE LIKE THIS … … Nor STANDARDIZE Uber to take over the taxi and other driver service businesses.

When I turn 40, in 2 years, I'm going to hunt people like in this down so they can't destroy the freemarket or free-enterprise with their useless university degrees nor their lineage of wealth and point them out.

It's all very embarrassing for everyone involved.
