What ones needs to understand about the article above...

The publications "Business in Vancouver", "BCBusiness" and the business networking group those papers are close to, the "Greater Vancouver Board of Trade" do not seem to allow any critique commentary of Sandra Miles so they removed my commentary from this news story where the comments go. I have re-written since then because heaven forbid a rich white person, raised rich to be put under real questioning bring down themselves and the system which created them here in Vancouver, Canada.

As the profile creation of Sandra Miles (the Recruitment source quoted from the article above) came to be, there was a ex-Miles Recruitment internal hire who wore blonde in her hair, wore blue eyes and was a white girl with ties to Alberta and support of the Canadian right wing politics we have today to win many of the same awards. They groomed her to be next in line to be the next "Sandra Miles" type "Vancouver Board of Trade", "BCBusiness" and "Business in Vancouver" success story.

The parties involved who created and empowered Sandra Miles then attempted to do that to her ex-Miles Recruitment employee mentioned previously, you get the same notable credit and empowerment as the others who won awards. Basically it's like "creating business people who have dreams but can make them happen through work". So if they like you and want to empower and create you, parties who helped Sandra will create who they want.

In the link above a business client gives his negative experience as client and business owner. I'll explain what happened here in Vancouver, from a candidate perspective as a candidate and contractor.

In the article link above...

Sandra Miles seems to be defending recruitment, then herself for some reason and makes me wonder why they chose her to do that. Sandra is someone who appears in "Business in Vancouver" stories from time to time - they might have removed or edited her from this article since July 18, 2016 when it was published first, however the story above which criticized the Vancouver recruitment sector along, with my opinion of this recruitment "herd" of recruiters has serious concerns for me as a candidate and in this paper, for clients. On top of being hard to work with in Vancouver, it's 3rd Party Recruitment firms and their non 3rd party contacts in various businesses in many sectors, at various positions in organizations, that has been a problem for clients and candidates.

To avoid Vancouver born and headquartered firms from what I call the "herd" (it's not the entire set by any means),...make a note of these points:

have a select set of 3rd Party firms whom you trust and people to deal with when looking for work

It is not all Vancouver founded and operating firms but you won't miss this crowd.

3rd Party Recruitment firms with recruiters with business people who support them throughout the industry who got most active since 1998 forward

are networking socialites of this group who got most active in recruitment since 1998 forward, who have cut back on active Vancouver Board of Trade activities and memberships

Most of them either won nominations and awards then left the Vancouver Board of Trade after networking to be voted into being "Accredited"

They did not build competitive advantages over one another, they took home awards for being popular and saturated the market

Vancouver Active Business Networking socialites who since 1998 forward went out to win a lot of nomination awards as a way to crediting themselves

They're usually rich or upper middle class with obedient follower contacts and usually doing campaigns for the same charities and non-profits to show their loyalty to the "herd"

Not the quiet, humble set of leaders who I deal with from that industry who are well known for more than just nominations, where usually the firm takes the credit and we never know the leaders until we ask

try to place yourself for jobs and if placed

when dealing with recruitment firms, try to make sure they are head quartered and outside of British Columbia and Alberta

when dealing with Alberta recruitment professionals, outsourcing shops or contacts of there's with offices here in Vancouver, watch out for racist undertones when dealing with these firms

Here in Vancouver, they opened so many recruitment firms and outsourcing shops at one time, this "herd mentality" had no competitive advantage over the other and it ended up a saturated market

Being a licensed Microsoft Business Partner, a Microsoft AP and a 14 year contractor in IT where I've built my own network I have learned to stay away from Miles Recruitment and most Vancouver born recruitment firms, either go to big league U.S. Head quartered recruitment firms, big league global recruiters OR most commonly, build my own network then place myself - yes, even in Fortune500 firms...

Certainly not in most but many cases when hiring a 3rd Party Recruitment firm works to show that your firm has a useless or obsolete Recruitment division and Human Resources department Not Capable of handling responsibility, workload and should probably been hiring someone inhouse to do that if that is the case. This shows that Human Resources, uselessly spend money rather than do the job themselves to escape responsibility of hiring mistakes. You paid someone

who couldn't get a job in Human Resources doing in-house work to be recruiting candidates, to be doing just that for your business. So Now they you've chosen this person to find you a candidate?? Not the best idea!

Since around 1998, many rich, upper middle class and privileged white, Greater Vancouver people, started recruitment firms. Some of these people have always been able to go to someone for a job or money AND many are either from Alberta or have close ties to business people in that province. Not the best people for this industry because when you have people who didn't start from the bottom to beat the punches, you get a "herd mentality" all feeding off each other for ideas and being unable to truly understand a candidate profile. Also, for myself personally, have experienced a great deal of rejection, torment and racist under tones when applying for jobs in Alberta born businesses over the years and even in my contracting where an a Project Manager from an Alberta outsourcing company, while I was in Regina for a 12 month contract, questioned by capability then when I asked him not to degrade me I was sent home - that 12 month contract only last 6 days until I had to fly back. I have experienced entrapment and deceit from the Founder of a Great Vancouver recruitment business when he called me to tell me not to apply or call his business, wouldn't give me a reason, then sent me a Cease and Desist letter and then had his "legal counsel" harass my General Law Lawyer for which we have as standing evidence which we sent to my Business and Defamation Lawyers. That's a lot of work for being a ethnic dude who beat the punches from Main Street to Wall Street just because I didn't fit into this "herd". I wasn't rich enough, I wasn't white and I don't follow "herds" - you needed one of these, the more, the more accepted you were.

This "herd" caused a saturation of the 3rd party recruitment sector in Vancouver. For example, one job would be listed at many firms so if I applied at one recruitment firm which didn't want to represent me or didn't do it well enough, I couldn't go to another.

They also operate as a "herd" so everyone who is accepted at the "higher ranks of the Herd" must do what has been decided.

For example, if one person in the "herd" decides to fund-raise for the Children's Wish Foundation, they all do - if you don't you miss out, could lose business, reputation and contacts.

It is that group of recruiters and their contacts who have destroyed the market by saturating it, killed my career before it started and are constantly trying to shut me down.

I can Attest to the Nightmare faced when dealing with either this "herd" or any ofit's contacts in the industry:

I've been not paid 3 times

had to quit once due to a bad placement

I've been fired without cause in every instance where I didn't quit.

Sent to interviews to be laughed at, discredited and told that I lied on my resumes

Discrediting my references AND my work to a point where my reputation has been under fire

It's so bad that, I got sent to Regina, Saskatchewan and got sent back in 6 days for a 12 month contract (once again from an Alberta based companies' Project Manager)

In Vancouver, a recruiter from this group sent to an interview where the firm sent me home when they told me "your computer is taking too long to start - we know don't want your type here"

100% failure rated when dealing with 3rd party firms OR the contacts of this "herd" either from Vancouver head quartered firms or with the contacts there of.

Sandra Miles, in this article says she doesn't poach but how else would she be building Accounts? She might not but I'd ask if her staff is?

Later, they started filling offices of downtown & Greater Vancouver recruitment firms with new recruitment human capital, at blue chip global firms head quartered elsewhere. You will see those ones wanting to be part of "herd mentality" to be "accepted" when their not contacts of mine but have "Liked" commentary which defends the poor treatment of Candidates at the bottom.

In those cases with this "herd", I wouldn't be placed for interviews for jobs I was qualified for so I had to call upper managers sometimes to get interviews myself OR I was laughed out of interviews we agreed to send me to.

Of this "herd", I had the owner of a Vancouver based head hunting firm tell me they won't take my follow up calls or applications, then sent me a Cease and Desist letter of which my general practice lawyer basically took the harassment for which we later sent to a defamation lawyer to hold "until further action".

In my personal read on Sandra Miles being creditable for this article, it seems to be here by the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade's greatest supporter "Business In Vancouver" that she is - in fact they gave her awards and "primed her", however, one would need money and time to network to make contacts to get nominated for business awards which I'd think one would have to be rich to do. In fact the point of her being well off and privileged to not know the "grunt" of mankind having to work from little or nothing comes when she discredits recruiters who don't come from wealthy families and the true "zero to hero" hard worker when she discredits independent recruiters who work from home (4th to Last paragraph, last quote in paper).

I grew up in the Vancouver EastVan East-End where I have always known how hard some families live, just so their kids and themselves can be a part of the safe, sound world with a steady occupation. Some of those people, middle or lower income people aren't riding your tax dollars, they're pushing themselves with home based businesses, using coffee shops and renting a office for an hour just to get meetings and interviews done. Yes, home based business people who have virtual interview offices they rent or do their interviews in coffee shops but run their operations from their home because their obviously not privileged but hard working AND do a great job! Maybe this is why I get discredited - my parents only get $19,000 in CPP for retirement and I moved back home to pay the bills and take care of them. Something the rich and pampered laugh at because they could never imagine challenges of a "grunt" of the working class. Is this the type offirm you want to be going to, to represent you as a candidate? Not me. No way!

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MD6Rjyo77NY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Watch the Video Above - this is why I don't go to this "herd" of recruitment retards who haven't seen the real world properly. I'm backed by big league global business professionals so they can lick my a**. I just don't disclose where I contract because "Barbie

and Ken Recruitment" can't handle looking stupid so they pester and poach my clients. Make a note of the point in the video above where Louis CK says:

"I don't believe in raising your kids rich; it's the worst thing that you can do for them, or really, more for the people they are going to impact later in life." "Because there is no way there is somebody who is raised rich is not going to be a piece of sh*t human being. There just no way"..."I know that's a wrong Bigoted thought but I keep it" ... and

... so do many working class people looking for work, being assessed by someone who is making their life a living hell because they need to eat, have a great resume but won't be represent well or at all and... Just because the person or the firm asking the interview questions were raised rich with a narrow mind, or racist, or a bigot some other type ... That is the Hardest Reality Skilled Workers Face Today

In the Real World, both born rich and born not-rich people, know rich kids who made it because they were rich and pampered AND they know the person who might have only had 8 pairs of white socks for every school year THEN worked from being a grunt to a success even if their parents were rich!

On that note, one can conclude that after reading about Sandra Miles, it could give a misleading impression which affirms that being white, rich and popular is what one needs to be a "proven business professional" with "industry Accreditation" in Vancouver.

That is NOT true so don't buy into that.

Most people don't have that kind of time and money to take time off work to network with huge costs involved and spend big money on big networking membership fees while getting to write stories in business publications like "BCBusiness" and "Business in Vancouver" while the "Vancouver Board of Trade" empowers their moves. There are many "real Zero To Hero success stories" who started with less, had to work with little and got further - or are being targeted to be shutdown if they're "in the way". When I got noticed as one of those success stories the previous bit, I know that I too am targeted.

Miles Recruitment does not and has not ever responded well to my applications nor contacted me in recent years. But I'm pretty sure I have worked and been hired by their previous or current clients.

Miles Recruitment firm has always negated my applications along with who appeared to be contacts in of theirs in the industry. In fact, one person Sandra employed, white girl who died her hair blonde and wore blue contacts was primed by the "herd" in question then won some of

the same awards as Sandra in some cases. This is one of the reasons I stay away from some people and also why I started a recruitment practice of my own to offer to my clients as value added. After being torn to pieces I had to place myself without one. I wasn't rich enough, I wasn't white and I don't follow "herds".

With this way of being, I got targeted when hired, fired for little or no reason, had my reputation scared and destroyed in Vancouver, my physical and mental health has been jeopardized, I lost my fiancé and to have kids with her, ex in-laws I still miss along with my credit score, my RRSPs went to debt and today with my reputation scared because of these privileged white, rich people in recruitment and their business contacts from Vancouver offices who didn't like me beating the punches without following the "herd".

A "herd" with their Vancouver Board of Trade memberships and contacts made sure:

I wouldn't have a high earning career with a limitless ceiling

I wouldn't marry or have kids nor remain in contact with my ex fiance

I would either be fired or not paid or both

Any opportunities put before me I couldn't use to my advantage

One time, fired in 6 days and made to come back from a 12 month contract in Regina, Saskatchewan

Fortunately for me, a global network keeps me alive, my career alive

My point is that Bert Hick (from the article) and others might have client issues and I have candidate issues - plus a contact of mine, dear to my heart worked, then had a hard time so she quit at a firm in this "herd".

I can't get a job downtown or paid in my range because of people in recruitment and business who are of this "herd" for industry work here at a select set of firms who have collected industry contacts to have me fired, not paid, laughed at interviews and keep me away from long standing downtown contracts or with big firms.

Even some of my references have distanced themselves from me. I now encourage people to do a reference check on me, one with my references then one with the founders of Vancouver based recruitment firms, call Sandra's firm and ask them why they never contact me or send me to jobs

- I'm listed in Bloomberg on top of being a self standing Consultant and Contractor to Fortune500 firms. Ask this recruitment "Herd" and their business contacts. On that note, even my great references have called me and said they've given up and it is tiring, doing great references and me being targeted for down falls at work or bad experiences because of this very issue. So for this reason, I go to interviews and apply without HR or Recruitment firms so my references can the firm hiring have a relationship without a 3rd Party firm.

1. I recommend HR departments to save the money and do the work of finding candidates "in house" - starting with a in-house recruiter.

2. I recommend candidates to find top level recruitment firms head quarter and to be drafted outside of BC and Alberta,

3. I recommend candidates find recruiters, account managers and network with hiring managers outside of BC and Alberta unless you have long standing relationships.

4. The 3rd Party recruiter or contact in BC or Alberta is not the person you want choosing your future unless, like in my case, you have known them for years and keep your relationships on the down low.

Want to know who accepts the bad treatment of Candidates ... look no further than the comments below.

You will see those ones wanting to be part of "herd mentality" to be "accepted" when they have attempt to defend the poor treatment of candidates and/or have "Liked" commentary which defends the poor treatment of Candidates at the bottom.
