This sounds great if you're a cattle-winger who just became a politician because you
can't think past the gate enough and your dumb as nail like the current Ministers of
Departments like Fisheries and Oceans and other departments. You see, in order for
Innovation to Manufacture then Capitalize, Innovation has it's own steps. One of those
steps, perhaps one would call it the "most important" is what's called "Basic
Research" -and not just in areas where you see a use today.
"Basic Research" is things which usually don't always have an immediate use. The federal government killed Research funding and fired scientist and decimated their ability to do research. That is just one example.
The findings ofsuch research might have no applied use for the manufacturing and capitalization today but are needed for the innovation ofthings which we need tomorrow - thus the reason, the government is killing Innovation.
These findings, usually through iterative steps in further research and development of
several other projects, sometimes taking years and years, lead to the findings of such
intellectual knowledge that from it, there comes "Innovation" itself, of something so
profound that the years and years of basic research in areas which are non-relevant at
the time comes the first step required to "Manufacture" then "Capitalize" on those
very "Basic Research" findings which lead to "Innovation".

Canadian voices have stated this current approach is and has been killing Canadian
Science jobs by not fostering, supporting and retaining scientists, their research in
fields which they are trained for the sake of narrow minded political urgency to have
immediate applied science which has benefits today for end result prize winning but
not through iterative research leading to great innovations through the full life cycle of
research and development.
Scientists know the government has gone as far as destroying previous research and "muzzling" scientists from speaking up.
You ask how I know, I just heard it on CBC radio (Radio1 Sirus) which a handful of
people from a variety of political and scientific backgrounds laying evidence to a
Progressive Conservative government official defending these cut backs by noting
that his claims were detrimental to Canadians, Canadian future scientist, science
students and the debilitating of skills of current Canadian home grown scientists. I
agree fully that is what it appears is happening here is wrong.

What this federal government official defending the government approach was saying
is that the current Federal Party has given more money than any previous party to
research to science and this might be true but it only or primarily went to applied areas
which the government sees as applied uses for manufacturing and health care.
Unfortunately, halfor more than halfthe Manufacturing done in Canada is Foreign companies manufacturing on Canadian soil.
This Sounds Great but remember, politicians, especially Federal Tories in Canada, are
the only ones who think they're doing the right things with this narrow minded, ill
approach which leaves Canadian current, future scientists and science overall, behind.

28-e.htm, 2013, Government of Canada )
That money which was spent went primarily to research which covers Alberta oil
sands work and related work and areas where they see use. It's not just the end result
which science is celebrated for -it is every step of a full life cycle set of projects
which gets that result. The publishing of papers and intellectual property working
within the science and global business communities makes money -I'd say just as
much if not more when all areas of science are utilized not just the ending result.
Somecommonproblemswiththiscurrentapproachis:
Kills other areas where research and innovation can exist
Required the firing and disabling of Canadian Scientist and Research Projects
Keeping current and other scientist quiet and muzzled from speaking up for not letting
scientists decide the future of science, it's research and methods which lead to
innovations for tomorrows world, whether non-science people see a use for it today or
not.
Blackmail is what the current government might be using a tactic when they "Muzzle"
scientists for standing for this right
On CBC Radio1 Tonight on SirusRadio, the government official from the Progressive
Party of Canada said there were other scientists who were powering the
researchandthose scientist, we're not Canadian. Theygotthemfromothernations

The findings ofsuch previously noted "basic research" in a variety offields might
have no applied use today for the manufacturing and capitalization today but are
neededfor the innovation ofthings which we need tomorrow -thusthereason,
